Level Introduction

Interguild
This is the map of the level, but you knew that already.

Click here for the level code of this level.

Now here we are at the game's third official level. It's not so hard, but it's probably the first level with some semblance of a challenge. Both the running water and the blue pawkeet can be a regular source of deaths. Move quickly, but don't forget to be careful, especially when avoiding the enemy.

Walkthrough

From the start, jump to the right, past a ladder, where you will find a gap only large enough to be crawled through (henceforth to be referred to as a "crawl-space"). At the end of the crawl-space is the level's first four treasures, which obviously need to be collected. Should you forget to collect these treasures (it happens?), an air pocket forms above these treasures, once the water rises high enough, so it should be possible to come back and get them later if need be. Crawl back to the left and climb to the top of the ladder.

Head rightward, through a crawl-space and then ease your way to the top of another ladder. In this room, there is a blue pawkeet flying back and forth, only one tile above the ground. If you stand on the terrain as the pawkeet flies past, it will run into you and you will lose a life, so be sure to duck whenever this happens. In particular, be very careful when mounting or dismounting the ladder; always be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get out of harms way. From near the top of the ladder, wait for the pawkeet to fly past, and, when it's far enough away, head to the right and collect another treasure. If necessary, duck and wait for the pawkeet to pass above you before jumping and hitting the arrow crate above your head, which will cause an arrow crate to fall a little farther to the left. Head to the left (being careful to avoid the pawkeet, as usual) to find where this arrow crate has fallen, and trigger it as well. This will cause a mass of boulders to fall down. Head further to the left to find another treasure, and then wait for the boulders to finish falling. Once they have finished falling, fall down onto them and collect your seventh treasure.

One of the boulders that have just fallen is sitting alone by itself on top of the others and is pushable. As a precaution, push it to the left to where it will crush a spike that could potentially have killed if you have just jumped straight into the secret area. Fall to the left of where that boulder ends up to find the secret area. At this point, if the water has risen high enough, you may have to swim downward in order to get into the secret area.

Giant orange arrow sold separately.

After you have finished falling to the bottom of the secret area, head to the right where you fill eventually find and collect the gem. Now, return to where you left off before falling into the secret area by going back to the left, jumping up through a platform and climbing to the top of the ladder. At this point, the water will likely have risen a significant amount, so be sure not to swim into the spikes as you make your way up to the surface.

Now head rightward, past the top of the first ladder and again past the bottom of the second ladder to find another crawl-space. Crawling is slow and boring, so let's hope the level designers don't make a habit of making us do it. Crawl to the end of this long and winding tunnel. Probably, you were reasonably quick, and the water is far from filling this next room, but if not, be sure to take a quick breath in an air pocket near the bottom. Once you reach the bottom of the tunnel and have collected the two treasures that are waiting there, you will likely have to wait for the water to rise a little bit in order to reach the arrow above you. I ran through all my "waiting for the water" jokes when writing the guide for tutorial 6 (water 2), but it's not a very long wait. Once you are able to reach the arrow, hit it, and then quickly (because boulders are coming) swim down and to the left and then up and into the air pocket, refilling your air. Wait here for all four of the boulders to fall, and then take another breath of air in the air pocket before swimming up through where the boulders just fell down through, refilling your air again at the surface of the water.

Interguild
The site of my first game over. I got stuck in the walls above this air pocket.
As long as you jump straight up and down and stay away from the corners, you probably won't have the same thing happen to you.

Again you might have to wait for the water to rise, but fear not, for the level is almost over. Once the water has risen enough for you to reach the ladder, climb to the top of it and then head back to the left, where you will find and collect the final three treasures of this level. Crawl to the left, but wait a bit before falling back into the room below. The pawkeet is still flying back and forth, waiting to steal you away from your imminent victory. Wait for the pawkeet to pass before falling back into this room. The door is just a little to the left, but don't let the pawkeet hit you on the way out.

Also, if you have been playing through the game from the beginning and have been collecting all the gems, you just crossed 100,000 points, which is good enough of a score to send for 1000NP, if that's what you're after. To send score, click "Quit" in the upper-left score of the screen, and then click "Send Score". Hopefully it sends.

Somebody (other than Isa) needs to add captions for those images. Thanks in advance!

And now I'm officially 1/3 of the way through these articles!
Unless you account for the fact that the articles of the later levels are probably going to take longer to write...

Ok lets see...

First caption: The map of the level.

Second Caption: Note how the water falls on the tile to your right and looks very unrealistic.

Third caption: I'm swimming!

"The map of the level."
This is what I would have put for the map's caption in the previous article, if I didn't have to use that space to explain that the captions for that article weren't going to be as witty as usual.

"Note how the water falls on the tile to your right and looks very unrealistic."
I noticed that too, but I'd prefer to use something a little more relevant to the finding of the gem.

"I'm swimming!"
I'm not really sure what that has to do with anything either, lol, but at least there was some lol.

Your first and third captions are currently the front-runners, while Isa's, "This looks perfectly safe and reasonable" or something like that is the front-runner for the second, lol. Get yours as all three captions and I'll give you the IDEAS award (no I won't).

Ok what about:

Second Caption: Note this arrow wont be there to help you in the actual level. Jump around a bit and with luck you will find where to go.

Maybe, "Orange arrow sold separately" or something.
Anyway, I think I'll give the others a chance to come up with some captions before I make my decision.

I'll suggest that the second caption be "Here's your secret path to the gem!", and the third caption be "Taking a short breath before catching up with the rising water level"

And... sometimes, a the place shown in picture 3, hannah gets stuck inside the terrain (maybe about 20% of the time), and when that happens, its damn annoying.

Lol, if you'd read my tutorial 5 article, I mention that exact spot. The story goes, my first time play HATPC, I had one life left, but I got stuck in that corner (by a glitch) and couldn't restart (another glitch). So yeah, my first play, I got tag-teamed by glitches.

OK, I'll put in some captions now, but they're still subject to change.

lolz, 1/3 way through? should i remind you levels 6, 10, 14, 16, and 19 are still to be made? after you finish level 16, THEN it'll be 1/3 way there.

the article looks good with the current captions.

Why the **** do people suddenly ******* ***** about swearing every now and ******* then. I have been a ******** occasional swearer my **** entire ************* time at the Interguild. Why do people suddenly think I'm a **** *** *** of a ***** for letting off a **** swear every ******* now and then, *** ******?

Sorry I couldn't resist, that was mostly not serious. But why are people suddenly complaining about the amount of language on the Interguild? It looks like this outlash started when I swore about the collaborative comp results. I thought we were all mature enough to atleast swear every now and then.

As for the guide, I'm glad to see some of the humor from the tutorials carried on to here. If somebody ever really does get stuck on level 3, atleast they may laugh a few times.

The language you used was controversial, because we can't really censor that word, because of it's used in many other words, but if we could, it would probably be censored. But since it isn't censored, we really can't do anything except for discourage the use of such words. I'd have no problem with cursing every now and then, it's just that we have users like neezles who are like 5 years old or something.

But she was (and still is) suspended at the time that you made that post, so at least you don't have to worry about if you corrupted her or not.

Also, I'd like to personally say that I'm just happy that "crap" isn't censored like it used to...

If crap was censored, I can't even think of a good anology to that. But I guess I should be scarring the young members brains too much, I'll stop complaining.

Btw, I'm a young member. If you can recall Livio's fb post, "It looks like Neezle's Neezleness has rubbed off on you, Kirby" and that is true. I am good friends with Neezles. Alizabella is very nice.

No, crap was already the top word used in my class in grade 2.

Now, why don't you add anything about the multiple glitches you can find in this level?

I'm not sure what glitches your talking about, but the talk about glitches doesn't really belong in a level-walkthrough article. It's better just to mention is in passing, and then link to an article about it (though, odds are, that article doens't exist, lol).

The caption suggestion box is now closed.
