« Livio's Blog

By now, you've surely read the historical record of the incident or at least looked over the live feed in the Weekly Update. Even though evidence is starting to surface that there is still more to this conflict to come, the purpose of this post is to uncover the truths behind what happened on that fateful morning.

What Caused the War?

One could say the war started casually, that it was just a simple gang-up on Livio that spun out of control. However, when you look into what actually happened, you will find a much deeper motive.

It started on page one of the Red Remover Comp topic when a series of posts were made that seemed to have been cut-off. Annoyed by this, Livio posted about giving all those posts negative karma ratings but decided not to because he wouldn't want the others to react by ganging up on his karma. However, when canadianstickdeath (CSD) saw that all those posts had been rated down anyway, he said, "Let's gang up on Livio and give him negative", which would lead to the first shot of the Karma War.

However, Livio was not the one who rated down those posts. It wasn't until after he was ganged up on that he rated those posts down. So then what happened? The truth is that imtimi posted those ratings, and once the ganging up started, he removed them all-- effectively making it seem as though Livio went along with the idea in the first place and thus sparking the conflict.

But why would imtimi do this? Well, let's look at the effects of the war. As the war was fought, the karma system was brought into chaos. It was so far the biggest mockery of the system in Interguild history: 118 karma votes were removed at the end of the first battle (117 removed via nuke, one final rating from Of Cheese removed manually) and another 303 votes were removed after the second attack, leading to a total of 421 spam rates. Imtimi is not a fan of the karma system, as evident from his topic called Karma System =/= Good System (btw, the "=/=" is the symbol for "does not equal").

It is highly unlikely that imtimi was smart enough to plan the entire war for this cause. However, he did see the opportunity and simply acted upon it.

KarmaBot's Purpose

KarmaBot originally appeared just when CSD was starting to mention how he knew that imtimi had framed Livio. Imtimi had to keep the war alive, but he couldn't do it himself or else people would grow suspicious of his motives. That is when he called upon KarmaBot to lead the assault.

KarmaBot was a very effective general for imtimi. Not only could imtimi control him/her/it from the shadows, but KarmaBot was very skilled in recruiting volunteers to join in the fight against Livio.

D52?

Quirvy was dissatisfied with the Karma War. He believed both sides were holding back and that true warriors would do something amazing like take over IceCaves.net. After I mentioned the fact that IceCaves was already taken over by D52, D52 appears! (The last time D52 was spotted was more than four months ago.) It's possible that she/he/it read Quirvy's posts and agreed with his point of view. However, D52 will not take a direct stance on the conflict. She/He/It seems, however, bent on sabotaging my peace negotiations by editing my posts and making it seem like I want to give my unconditional surrender. This was masterfully planned, knowing that Livio would not let the conflict end like this. The result would be the continuation of the Karma War.

During the time of this writing, a second wave of attacks has just been launched, and Livio has lost around 25 karma.

You're karma has dropped to 74 70 50. I would say that the evidence is becoming overwhelming.

More lies. I did no such thing because I was never and am not online.

It was a different situation as I wrote it, and I added in the last line at the last minute.

and I don't know why I felt the need to define what =/= was, lol

"Let's gang up on Livio and give him negative"
I don't think it was clear enough, but I intended this to be another unfinished sentence, with "karma!" being the missing portion.
As well, Livio had already been down-rated twice before I made my post, lol.

And I new from almost the very beginning that imtimi was the one who actually down-rated those posts. I checked the karma panel right after I posted (time was of the essence!), and confirmed what I had already suspected.
