Pwn-(v) To dominate one's oppenent. A leet-speak counterpart of "own". Ex: The MMO player shouted to the man he killed,"I PWNED u n00b!!!11!!"

Dance-(v/n) To move one's feet and or body in patterns of rhythm out of joy or excitment. Ex: Successfully stealing his first set of hubcaps, the Thug DANCED with joy

Put the two together and you get....

Pwn Dance-(v/n) To move one's feet and or body in patterns of rhythm to celebrate the dominating of an opponent. Ex: Once Hannah collected the final treasure chest, she PWN DANCED for a couple of seconds to celebrate it and then moved on to the door
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That is essentially what Pwn Dancing is. When you accomplish something important in the middle of a level, you dance to celebrate dominating it. These are generally only done in walkthroughs, so other people can see it when they watch the video. Through this guide , I shall explain how to Pwn Dance, what games you can Pwn Dance in, when to Pwn Dance, and the dangers of Pwn Dancing.

HATPC PWN DANCING 101

If you dream it, you can do it, Hannah.

This is what you'll need to pwn dance:

If you can't tell, which you most likely cannot, those are your arrow keys and the space bar

Imagine, you have one treasure chest left to get, you spot it quite close to you actually. You run up and grab it, to your continuing joy, behind that treasure chest is an open door waiting to be entered. You're so happy you could cry, but you won't because you'd be crying about an old shockwave game featuring a treasure-collecting squirrel. Anyways, how do you express this sudden burst of emotion?

The answers is: *tap, tap tap, press, tap, press*. You just Pwn Danced! In the very basic form of Pwn Dancing, all you need to do is tap a few keys and press space once or twice.

Beginner Pwn Dance Combo: (NOTE: Do NOT Hold down any keys for this combo) Left Key, Right Key, Down Key, Down Key, Down Key, Left Key, Right Key, and Space Bar.

If you did that right, Hannah should run left, then right, crouch three times, run left again, dash right, and finally jump upwards. Taadaa! You pwn danced.

Hannah, after her 1st Pwn Dance.

More Advanced Techniques

So, you think you've mastered the art of Pwn Dancing? WRONG! There is still a few golden methods that'll really impress people.

The Running Man

How to do the running man in real life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLJwAgyUFNc

To do the running man in Hatpc, press the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys at the same. You may think the that Hannah will just run the the direction that you pressed a fraction of a second after the other key, but actually she'll start running in place!

Hannah will always face right while doing the running man. Underlying political symbolism anyone?

Wonders of the down arrow key

Yes, with the down arrow key, you can pull off a few more advanced Pwn Dancing moves.

1. 1st most, duck jumping! To do this in Hatpc press the SPACE BAR and the DOWN key at the same time. Duck Jumping can be an important aspect of Pwn Dancing, it can be used aptly if you want to get back to the ground quicker then usual. This is because while ducking jumping, you jump .5 tiles less then usual. Also duck jumping in Pwn Dancing is mandatory if you dance in a room with a low ceiling.

2. Another needed move to your Pwn Dancing collection is the crouching running man! To pull this funky jig off, press the LEFT, RIGHT and DOWN keys at the same time. The result will be the running man, but you'll be crouching while you're doing it! Also just crawling in different directions can be a worthy move! To do this, press either the LEFT and DOWN keys or the RIGHT and DOWN keys at the same time.

HEADS UP!

Last, but not least for techniques, looking up is awesome. Simply pressing the up key will make Hannah look at the area above her. This is not only useful for seeing what is next in a cave, but just another technique to add to your dance arsenel.

Expert Pwn Dance Combo: Are you ready for your fingers to go numb? Here it is (NOTE: Instead of saying certain keys, I may refer to them as certain moves): Running Man, Crouch, Crouch, Jump, before you hit the ground, press left then right, crouch left, look up, look up, crouching running man, left, right, and look up.

Holy ****! That was quite a lot wasn't it? Try to discover your own Hatpc Pwn Dancing Combos!

Pwn Dancing In SMF

A lot of you may think that Pwn Dancing is just confined to Hatpc. WRONG! Do some research you heathens! (kidding).

Silly Hannah, always asking questions!

Anways to Pwn Dance in Smf you'll need some Shrooms- I mean a Mushroom, you know, the red and white ones?

You'll need one of these!

This mushroom will cause Mario/Luigi grow taller, allowing them to smash bricks, but more importantly for Pwn Dancing, it'll can let you duck. Even though your moves are limited in Smf, know you can move left, right, jump and duck. For know that'll do.

Beginner SMF Pwn Dancing Combo: Left, Right, Jump, Duck, Duck, Duck, and Right.

Taadaa! You just Pwn Danced in SMF.

With apologies to Imtimi, for stealing his accent idea

Advanced SMF Pwn Dance Techniques

To pull off some advanced SMF Pwn Dancing, you'll need to consume this sweet leaf- I mean flower. You know the yellow flower, that'll turn Mario/Luigi's suit White and Red.

Gee, even the flowers in SMF have accents.

This'll allow Mario/Luigi to shoot fire balls!

Advanced SMF Pwn Dance Combo: Left, Jump, Duck Before You Reach The Ground, Shoot Fireball, Right, Left, Duck, Duck, Shoot Fireball, and Jump.

Now that you know how to Pwn Dance in a few games, here are a few things to know.

The right times to Pwn Dance

Yes, there is a right time to Pwn Dance. Doing a dance at the wrong time can result in people thinking that the dance is annoying. Good times to Pwn Dance are: When you collect the last treasure, when you approach the open door, when you're waiting for something to happen*.

*Note: The 3rd reason to Pwn Dance is somtimes looked down upon, due to the fact that you did not accomplish anything to deserve a Pwn Dance.

Good Example Of A Time To Pwn Dance

or...

In Time, after going through all those traps just to collect a single treasure, Hannah desereves to do a little jig. As for RoDB, anyone who can beat that hell of a cave deserves to express their domination.

Pwn Dancing While Waiting For Something

See, Hannah just got bored waiting for something at 2:51 so she decided to dance to pass the time. Once again, Hannah did not accomplish anything, so certain people may frown at her Pwn Dance.

Overkill

Yes, it's not just an underrated thrash metal band, it's a term used to describe too much usage of virtually anything. And when somebody Pwn Dances too much, that'll equal an Overkill. Which can lead to some consequences.

The filmer means no harm by dancing, but the sheer repetitivness of the Pwn Dancing caused him to lose rating points in one of the reviews. This, my audience, is a victim of overkillage Pwn Dancing.

A Few More Tips

In Hatpc: Watch out! There are so many things that could kill you while attempting to Pwn Dance. Monsters, arrows, spikes etc. Remember, if you're underwater and you wish to dance, be sure to have plenty of air.

But more importantly, watch out for spikes, any sudden movements could easily kill you. There is a chance you may not see the spikes, when attempting to Pwn Dance. This is called "Getting Caught Up In The Moment", you are so happy that you got that treasure or made it to the door, that you ignore your surroundings, which can be a killer when attempting to Pwn Dance. Below is an example video of "Getting Caught Up In The Moment".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73wqFcPVNM4

In SMF: Remeber any sudden change in movement will result in a bit of drag from Mario/Luigi. So if you're going left, and you suddenly hit the right arrow key, Mario/Luigi will still move a bit more left before beginning to move right. Be wary of this, for it can easily cause you to collide with a lurking Pirahna Plant, or something even more dangerous.

Some last words from the wild wind

Yes, I'm afraid this guide is coming to an end. Remember Pwn Dancing is never mandatory, but the lack of Pwn Dancing is the main cause of Squirrel Obesity Disease and Fat Italian Plumber Disorder, so use it to stay in shape. In all seriousness, it is just a form of creative expression, so don't go to great lengths to try and include some in your video. The day is closing, the blog is ending, the sun is setting. Well, of course there isn't any sun in caves, but Mario/Luigi should be wary of catching skin cancer if they're in an outside enviorment.

I got permission from Isa to use the "Getting Caught Up In The Moment" video. I'm currently waiting to get permission from Dando and Csd, but I'll assume they'd say yes to me using their videos in such good nature. Unfortanatly I could not get any permission from Orcasaur due to him not coming on anymore, but if he ever does and wishes the video to not be used, it may be taken down.

All HATPC screenshots, except one were taken from the awesome level "Drop", up on 13ncl (seriously, try the level folks). The underwater screenie was taken from level four of the actual Hatpc game. The SMF pictures were taken from no level in particular, just a breif spit of land from the level editor.

Thank you for reading this guide. If you just scrolled down to the bottom and are reading this sentence, **** you and go read the guide like a real man. Anyways, thanks for reading, and Pwn Dance away!

*If you see any other games that one could potentially Pwn Dance in, mention them!*

put you as its author. I can't figure out how to fix this, though. When I look at the code, it seems like nothing should be wrong. I'll look more into it when I finish my blog for the IO.

I would like you to add the FR2 pwn dance. Not much, but it is done by repetitively button mashing the button, z, so that FR2 guy flips back and forth over and over.

I don't think I could write more than two sentences about pwn-dancing, so a big kudos to you. Pwn-dancing is an art brimming with untapped potential, and the more people know about it, the better.

Yaya, if you have the pictures for this, you should definitely re-upload them.

Lol Imageshack. Sadly I do not have any of the original pictures. I remember the layout of most of them, and I mentioned what HATPC level I used for reference in the article, so I could recreate them probably. The tricky part is the speech bubbles of dialogue that were in some pics, not sure if I remember all of those. I'll dig around in my brain a little
