As you know, Aeon's code is being reorganized, and one of the things that has slowed progress down for the last few days was the designing of the new XML layout. Even though I created a new topic to house a draft of the design, you can't really track my progress through that topic since I've mostly been working offline, and as I said in that topic, the XML is always changing.

Another reason why that topic exists was so that the demo could load the demo's level data from the level database itself, and in regards to that, I've made considerable progress. Right now I'm working on the
<assets>
tag in the XML which lets you load externally uploaded images and sound files. I'm in the middle of writing the code that loads all of that into Flash while making it easy for future code to call up those loaded items.

I've also started to plan in detail how the customizable title screen (the "jump to start" screen) will work, which must be set up early if it is to work with the level's background or terrain pattern. You guys are definitely gonna love customizing the title screen for your levels; you can do so much cool stuff with it.

And on a side note, I began adding the white void that appears outside your level, which you will now be able to customize the appearance of, or you can set the void to be a continuation of the level background or another mask within your level (such as the terrain pattern). And you'll also be able to fill the void with a gradient.
