Description: Introducing... Change in Perspective II!
This is the sequel to this cave.
Sorry, you have to use Fiddler
Notes: This was a PAIN to test. When I started a week ago or so, I thought it'd be easy. Nope xD I started on a paper cave. The cave didn't work out at all, but I wanted to continue it, so I finished n stuff. Might be hard to play, but I'm in the middle of a WT, so you'll be able to see the full cave soon! So I tried to use a similar idea to the first, but didn't want it to be different. In the first one, it was possible to go both ways, but I realized after that you could really choose either way and half of the time, no one would understand the cave.
This one is a little bit more straightforward, but it's still confusing at times. I incorporated heart crates into every trap, which makes it more confusing... and you probably won't be able to tell which way to go... but that's the fun! Right? D: I'll add tutorial arrows later probably.
Most likely the tutorial arrows will apply for the first run.

7.9/10 Good ALRIGHT I BEAT THIS ******, ARE YOU HAPPY NOW!?!?!!? At 3:58, I told you I'd play this. After taking about 3 minutes to remember how to use Fiddler, I've pretty much been playing it since then with the exception of a few frustration breaks (and now dinner). On of these breaks was about at 4:25. I was just gonna give in and offer input, but not rate it. I got about a paragraph in before I decided to play again. In that paragraph, I said, "probably only Shos or maybe Harumbai will get much out of playing this cave". I'll admit I impressed myself by beating this PITA. If only I didn't feel so stupid about taking most likely +100 times to do it.
Stuff:
-To put my journey in perspective, I almost always took the path where all the heart crates were gone. I never got far in the path with the heart crates for some reason, so I'll probably end up missing some parts in this review. As for the whole "multiple paths via extra lives" thing, I didn't really care for it. I thought the one path was significantly more annoying than the other. The path I took required you to grab that heart every time you got three lives again. Half the time I forgot to grab it again, and if I ever took the other path, it'd screw up the pattern so I had to grab the heart with zero lives, so I'd have to grab it twice in a row, creating a vicious cycle. I think you could've handled just using more understandable elements to make different paths.
-SPIKES! **** em. They were everywhere in this cave. Some were necessary, others were scenery. Some were there for reasons I couldn't comprehend. There are so many flipping opportunities to die a stupid death by spikes in this cave. That's partially why I gave up on the other path. I'm not sure if you put them in to prevent cheatability, but I feel like people would be better off just playing the damn level normally than cheating at these points.
-Other non-spike parts included with spike parts, I feel like there were multiple points in the cave where you could've changed something simple that wouldn't have changed anything too much in order to make it more easy. Several parts I was just like, "OOOH SPONGEBOB SOCCERYBOY, WHHHHHHYYYY????".
-The traps themselves were also hard. I didn't really consider there to be an easy trap in this cave. The timing is often very tight, and if you're entering an area for the first time, you'll probably have no clue what you're doing and die. You may learn how to beat the trap from that experience, but if you're far up YOU HAVE TO DO THE WHOLE THING OVER AGAIN. I almost ALMOST considered using checkpoints in the cave due to how ridiculous the "whole thing" problem became by the end, but I determined using Fiddler and checkpoints was too much for me to handle.
-If I had to pick 2 parts in the cave that were the most headdesking, they'd be: towards the start after the paths reconnect, if you miss the chance to crawl to the left before the stack of 3 metal crates turns into 2, there is no suicide spike there. That is an absolute ***pain if you have one or zero lives since you're using Fiddler. Towards the end of my attempts, if I thought the timing might be too tight, I wouldn't even bother trying to make it. The 2nd part would be where you actually are punished for going too fast. After the part where you go all the way to the right, past the two stacks of steel dynamite crates. If you go onto the next trap too fast, you'll blow up the 2nd stack before all the crates are done falling, which will either make the trap much more harshly timed, or straight up impossible. That just sucks. Unfortunately, I don't have a simple solution to either of these problems, I figure you made the level, so if anyone can make a good solution it'll be you.
-Also, I wanna point out that getting back to the door is a little more difficult if you take my way, because the trap on the left is still there, and you kinda have to navigate it backwards in, which is confusing.
-Is there any fun in this level? I guess so. The traps become a little more bearable each time you beat them, but it's an extremely uphill battle. This cave isn't fun in the sense that "these traps are relatively easy, making the playing experience relaxing and enjoyable", but more like "I WAS SO ******* CLOSE, IMMA GO BACK AND TRY AGAIN SO I CAN FEEL LIKE A GOD SHOS! BUT THIS LEVEL IS STILL WAY TOO HARD TO BE FUN BY THE FIRST DEFINITION OF FUN!".
-I really hope you put tutorial arrows in this level. The traps will still be very hard, but people may be able to figure out what to do the first time they reach them.
The cave is ok. I can't really rate it low because of its quality, because the traps aren't too generic, and it's not like the experience is completely unenjoyable. So you were making a sequel to that level before the comp came out. It seems like the original was a puzzle cave, which is well suited for a shape like this. I don't see why you went with the speed approach this time, especially the hard speed approach. I think this would've turned out better if you tried to make a puzzle, but focused on fun. Or if you stuck with the speed idea, to not make it so confusing, not so spike oriented/trappy(?), and not heavily rely on bum concepts such as heart crates the entire cave.
Quirvy's right. We need to start making more reviews like this. I'm not trying to hype this style, or rake in karma. I would've gave up playing the level long ago if I hadn't felt that Soccerboy could use input to avoid making ridiculous levels like this in the future. When it's not IO season, caves are far and wide. It'd be nice if those caves didn't suck because our last far and wide cave that we put out that sucked didn't get any reviews telling us it sucked. I'm not saying this level sucks, but as long as the review is serious and constructive, it can only make our skills better.
Socceryboy, I also want to point out that this was a very hard level. Several times while stupidly dying in it, I had the urge to find out where you live, hunt you down, and take you to Burger King. There we would eat burgers and cutely argue over who should pay the bill. Citing the whole gender equality concept, I would pay it, then we would exit the building where I would proceed to slowly and gruesomely kill you with whatever was in my pocket (the Burger King was a last meal sort of front for you). This would probably be my temps (underage drivers license), because I don't wanna ruin my iPod or phone. I seriously thought this out while I was raging through this mess of a cave. Don't make hard levels, Soccerboy. When a level is a pain to test, it's usually a giveaway of how it will be to play it.

Actually only once. I have no problem with using "would've". I apologize for the one. When I type something that big, it's on a stream on consciousness, so I don't really check for typos or proper grammar until I write it all- I'm bound to miss a few attrocities.

I missed that one since you only said "would've". Fine, I suck.

See, Isa, you're confusing him. Your first one appeared to be criticizing the redundancy of him essentially saying that he would have have done something. But instead you were trying to point out his incorrect use of "of"? I thought that was jellsprout's job.
The whole first quote being grammatically incorrect even if he did replace "of" with "have" kinda threw me off.
Anyways, I liked the review, and it reminded me that even if I think that I made Terraformer too easy, it's better than making it too hard.

No, I understood he was talking about the "of" right away. Isa just thinks this is a serious offense. I do intend on reviewing Terraformer, by the way.
