Description: The word I'm using for my cave competition is "canadianstick..."
Screw putting it in the title, how about putting the word in the cave?
Anyways, yeah, I did it vertically. Don't bash me, cuz I'd like to see you pull off a decent 200x20 cave without it being uploader glitched. I just don't wanna deal with that.
But yeah, the map kinda gets cut off. Also, you get to do a bit of backtracking in this cave, making it similar to both The Ascent and The Descent! Hurray!
Anyways, about the cave, shouldn't be too hard, although the puzzle at the very top is a bit tricky. I made it without knowing what the solution would be, and eventually found it. So, yeah. Not exactly the usual way of making a puzzle, but whatever works, right?
But yeah, other than that puzzle, this cave is designed to be pretty userfriendly, with a few traps here and there that might be somewhat hard. User Rating: (Log in to rate)8.9 out of 10 Great 3 votes | Difficulty Rating: (Log in to rate) None 0 votes |

I've done that before. The third room of NWUE2 comes to mind.

so many skipped/cheated traps, so many easy things, and 0.2 points for the puzzle at the end. also, i couldn't figure where the canadianstick...started.
CSD's rate wasn't real, Shos. And there's nothing wrong with easy things. And I've only come across one skippable trap, which was fixed.
Anyway, I'm still playing it, but I'm almost done! I've gotten to the second (first, chronologically) A in CanAdianstick... . It's a little on the hard side, but still fun. | | Quirvy |

Flaming is not appreciated, shos. Especially not after I worked on this for hours making sure that it wasn't going to be too hard for the average user.

I was hoping the 0 would show up on the same line...

Yeah, that was such a hard fail that I had to edit it out.
Anyways, as far as a walkthrough to this cave goes...
...
...
I've had to switch computers, so this one is more laggy. And on top of that, I still have yet to upload Soul of Death and my other cave that I included in that walkthrough.
So, yeah. I don't think it'll get done very soon. Maybe someone else can do it. Although, you know, if CSD gave up, that'd be pretty hopeful of me, now wouldn't it?

9.4/10 Amazing! Yes, I have completed it! And it was harder than the first two rooms led me to expect it would be, but it has been conquered! With the gem!
So it was obviously more of a puzzle cave than much else. One thing that kind of annoyed me was how common giant clusters of arrows/dynamite were and how much I dislike puzzles where you have to stare at these clusters to figure out what to do, but I didn't take any points off because that's just a personal thing. Maybe just try to simplify the look of the traps. Then again, I'm probably the only person who does this or cares about it, but if you want extra Dando-points with future caves, that's the way to go!
The end puzzle was really good, even if it was pretty out-there. I didn't like Tom that much anyway. And backtracking is always fun! Seriously, I love it. It's underused and is a pleasure to partake in.
I'd say it was a pretty entertaining puzzle cave, altogether (I spent like an hour and a half playing it with my frustratingly crappy skills, so that should say something). It was fun to figure out, but its length unfortunately made it pretty hard to keep playing. You could have made it a teensy bit easier from the midpoint onwards, since I'm apparently not the only one prone to dying up there.
I give it a 9.4! | | canadianstickdeath |

I only put in 3 puzzles, and one of them turned out to fail, so I currently only have 2. Those being the sad face, which I made to be pretty easy, and the top area, which was pretty hard, IMO. Everything else shouldn't have been that hard. I gave you some tut arrows showing you where to go in a few traps where I thought there might be some confusion.
IMO, just looking at the cave code, it's a cluster, but when you play the actual cave, it opens up a little bit more, and becomes more clear what to do. But what do I know, I designed the cave after all, so I dunno if the path is clear or not.
But I'd think it would be pretty clear.

Well I guess we just consider different things puzzles. I'd consider the area just above the failed puzzle a puzzle, and the bit after the sad-face and subsequent platform-jump is a puzzle, and the bit in the first A. Basically, if you have to stop and think about what to do and what order to do it in, I consider it a puzzle.
But yeah, the tutorial arrows were nice. The clusters didn't really clear out until after I'd finished with them though, so... =p The path is pretty clear for the most part, though, yeah. | | canadianstickdeath |

Yeah, I'd consider it to be mostly a puzzle cave, too. Most of the rooms, it's not immediately obvious what to do. | | Quirvy |

I'll give you the bit after the failed puzzle, but the others require to little thought for me to consider them a puzzle.
You think those are clusters? Pull up the map through tehmarz's tool, and look at the area by the "i" in "canadian." That was a real pain to test. I had to test from an early point to a later point, because everything was connected to eachother, and you had to beat certain traps before other ones could be activated. Not in the puzzle sense, but the overlapping traps.

Yeah, it looks like you have to start back at the first-encountered n in order to really know if it'd work. What follows this sentence is a self-absorbed digression. We've all had testing pains, though. I'd say Cascades was one, but it really wasn't. I mean, I had to test the whole thing from the start every time, but it was OK, since I kinda enjoyed playing it. It's kind of a nice feeling when the time you finish testing it is also the same time that you beat it... Anyway... | | Quirvy |

Yeah, I also had to test Aquarius all the way through, but it was a little bit too hard for me to be able to beat, so I ended up being 1 water crate short in the released cave.

I don't think it'd be THAT hard to do testing for Aquarius. When I did testing for Annoying Climb: XP (here I go again...), I just put the starting position off to the side, and the amount of water crates prior to the current room dropped on my head. | | Quirvy |

Yeah, but I still don't think I could do that without altering other parts of the level.

8/10 Great Great cave. but there always seemed to be something about the level that I didn't like. Maybe it was some of these traps that I didn't like. | | Livio |
