Description: It's the sequel for that sequel comp. I made the traps harder than those in the first, but the cave is much shorter and also uglier. Still has no platforms/ladders.

Hey quirvy, delete that extra line in the code description.

7.5/10 Good Okay, so this was pretty easy. In my opinion, easier than the first. That enemy seemed kinda pointless, but I don't mind it that much.
I'll go in order:
1st trap: easy. beat it first try. no troubles.
2nd trap: didn't know what to do at first. beaten on my second time and it was pretty easy after that.
3rd trap: again, confused at first. looked over for a second. then beat it first try.
4th trap: didn't really like it as much. easy at first, then towards the middle of it, you have no idea when all of the metal crates are done falling so i died trying to jump up, then all of a sudden a metal crate kills me. from then on it was easy.
5th trap: okay this kinda annoyed me, but it wasn't hard... again you don't know what's going to happen until you play it a second time. i lost the first time. beat the second time.
overall, it was good, but i didn't like that you couldn't know what happened in the trap until you actually played it through.

The timing on the fourth trap, combined with that single piece of terrain sticking out from the ceiling blocking most of my jumps, make the first floor of Genesis look like a Neopets level.

If you're talking about the ones with the falling steel crates that you have to wait for, I think that's an exaggeration. I tested it, and I don't recall it being all that difficult. But I do seem to remember dying because of bumping my head into that one terrain block.
WAIT A SECOND
Jellsprout, you're not trying to jump in between the falling crates, are you? You're supposed to wait until all of them fall before you jump.
Also, I think I've reached a paradox with soccer; if I make my traps short and simple, soccer criticizes them for being too basic or filler traps. If I make them more complex, he criticizes them for being something that you can't beat on your first try because you don't know what's going to happen.

I don't know if the trap itself is that difficult. However, there are so many little things you can die from before you even reach that point that you don't even reach it and can't really practice the timing that well. It is that combination (and that evil bit of terrain) that make that part so evil.

You're talking about the fourth trap, and not the 5th trap, right? All you have to do before the bit I'm talking about is hit the arrow, jump up really fast, go left and collect the treasure, and then go back right. And I don't get what you mean by timing. It's not really something that requires timing, you just wait until the last crate falls and then jump up and continue. I really don't remember that trap being all that hard.

That is exactly what I do. Although it might actually be a decent idea to try jump between the two crates. I think you should have enough time, the jump is small enough and that way you can't bump against that piece of terrain.
Edit: I figured it out. At that point you can try to take the above route and the below route. I first attempted this level last week. For some reason I remembered that the lower route was impossible for some reason, so I kept trying the top route. The timing doesn't actually matter that much with the top route. One extra arrow crate and it would be possible.
Also, do you know you swim about 50% faster if you jump while underwater? That makes the underwater part of this level pretty much impossible not to beat and I noticed you didn't do it in your Terraformer walkthrough either.

I never even considered the possibility of using the area above as a path. I guess I should have worked on making sure that the path was inaccessible/hard-to-access.
And, yeah, I know about that. I do actually do it in the terraformer walkthrough, but I do it halfway through that water area because:
1. There's not much space 2 jump
2. For the first half, I'm navigating carefully through spikes so I prefer to move a bit slower
Not sure if I took it into account with this level, though.
