Can we as a collective please avoid speed traps relying on skating? I'm not even close to getting past the first trap.

I know, I have trouble with that trap myself. You can skip traps you can't beat if you want. This is really just to show different tricks that can be used in your HatIC levels.

I added an extra arrow to make it easier.

Hmmm, there are some interesting things in that level, I was playing Yearning for Yellow yesterday and when I finish that one and this one I'd rate them. First I'll solve some of the traps, some are really creative.

That first trap is still way too hard.

Three things with that trap that I don't like:
1. Sometimes, I think as a result of the ice, I slip all the way into that spike to the right of the arrow when I'm trying to fall down
2. Sometimes when I fall down, I don't make it into the 3 tile high opening and falls into spikes
3. To me the timing seems to be way too tight

That boulder maneuver afterwards was a cool idea, but it was also way harder than it needed to be. :suckjumping into a 2 tile high opening one space above you? Was that really necessary? I got it the first time I tried without dying, but the second time I didn't make it and accidentally pushed the boulder further so that I could no longer reach it. Okay, so you don't need to do that, but I still am not a big fan of all those spikes everywhere.

I also can't even figure out how you're supposed to do the dynamite bit afterwards. You can't switch characters mid-air, so hannah is going to die before Armin can do anything about the spikes. What am I missing here?

Just keep pushing the left arrow button all the time and you'll move 2 times faster than normally.

So mean tap it so that hannah slides on the ice? Never really thought about doing that. If that's the case, I think I'm with Isa; that's not intuitive trap design, and I don't want to have to play caves like that.

But still, how are you supposed to do that other trap?

Yeah, tap, I meant that word. :p But actually that next trap with that boulder and spikes was confusing for me too and I never beat it.

What you have to do is get Armin under the boulder, and then a little bit to the left of the boulder but still sort of under it. If you place it right, when you release the down button he'll push the boulder. You do it once (or twice), and then you can have Hannah jump on top of the boulder, crawl to the right edge of the boulder, and have armin push the boulder while hannah is still on the edge, so that once the boulder is pushed, hannah is still on the boulder even though it was moved one space to the right

The trap following it, though, I don't quite understand.

Hmm I'd never do that first one o.O But btw the next one hmm, shouldn't you just make Hannah use the down arrow, stand on the dynamites, then quickly change to Armin, jump to avoid the kabooom and then detonate the second layer of dynamites to let Hannah fall down? Won't the dynamites kill Hannah when she is changed to Armin? : o

Yeah, that's what I don't get. The dynamite will kill hannah if she's ontop of them, even if you're switched to armin, and you can't switch mid-air, so I don't get how you're supposed to do that section

From the mathematic and logic side, if that option doesn't work then it's just impossible, so there must be some unknown glitch involved into it if it's going to be beatable. Maybe you need to quickly change to Armin at a certain frame when Hannah is during the moment of hitting the arrow, then she would remain in air one tile above the dynamites and you would continue in that trap. :p

Lol are you trying to make the hatic version of imperio? I'm just gonna copy and paste what Isa said earlier and change it a little bit.

Can we as a collective please avoid traps relying on switching in mid-air?

Trying to get that to work also led me to notice a few other things about hatic which are kind of annoying:
1. It seems that upon landing on ice hannah moves a little bit to the left. This doesn't seem to happen to armin for whatever reason
2. When jumping onto blocks of terrain that have an edge, it's much easier to slip and fall off the edge so you need to be more precise when jumping.

Well, I kind of noticed this earlier, but I noticed them more thoroughly here.

This really was just a test to see what you could do with HatIC in glitches and tricks. And I'll try to remember those things next time I play a HatIC level.
