Cyndaquil evolves at Level 14. And you should NEVER underestimate a Quilava. I certainly did. (Quandra, the lucky thing, beat Whitney's Miltank. Whitney's. ****, her Miltank is HARD as.)

As well as the fact Quilava gets STAB for Flame Wheel, doubling its base power of 60 (according to Veekun ) to 120. That's quite powerful, no?

^ See? Quilava, coupled with Flame Wheel and some other moves, is awesome. Especially against anything that is part Grass (NOT Jellsprout; why would I burn him up?)

EDIT2: A METAPOD? Seriously? A wild one only knows Harden (that's all they learn until they hit 10, which is when they evolve into Butterfree); and even if Quilava doesn't have Flame Wheel, when it gets to Bugsy (this is going by HGSS; Bugsy is the 2nd gym, after Falkner), I would crush his Scyther, kill his Kakuna and roast his Metapod. Because Bug > Fire. Bug is weak to Fire; not the other way around. Against a Level 100 Metapod evolved from a Caterpie, though, if Quilava was not level 100 itself (or any level lower than 90), it would be crushed (unless it was 90-99, it knew a Fire move and the Metapod had lower Speed stats); but that is because of Metapod's level (100) and the fact it is evolved from a Caterpie; it knows Tackle (or Bug Bite; if the trainer had patience) that way. I know my Pokemon facts; I would ramble all day.

Flame Wheel? Why use a physical attack on a Special based Pokémon?
Quilava learns Flame Wheel at level 20 now, not level 19.
STAB multiplies the damage done by 1.5, not 2. The Base Power of Flame Wheel is 90 with STAB, not 120 (approximately, as the damage formula is bit more complicated than that).

Yeah, if you compare Lyrex and Drattnii to Luxio and Dratini you'll find them absolutely similar; most of my Imigin are based off of Pokemon...

Here we have Virabravia, partially taken off Vibrava (and very slightly off Dragonair, as you can see in the tail) and the rest is my own handiwork. I also added a Shiny version for some reason.



EDIT: @Jell: Haven't you noticed D/P/Pt/HG/SS's Physical/Special split? Moves are now either Physical, Special or Other categories, and types aren't reliant on those categories. It makes a whole lot more sense.

Obviously. That is why I commented on Flame Wheel being a physical move and not suitable for Quilava.
