why does the link to the chatbox contain the unix time stamp for the moment you loaded the current page it serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever nor does it allow you to see older messages

I'm not Livio and I don't really have any insight into the creation of his site, but if I had to guess, I would chalk it up to him not cleaning up code. I know he uses the unix timestamp to link to individual posts (ex: http://www.interguild.org/members/forums/jump.php?to=1489571043)
So maybe he was just experimenting and forgot to remove the timestamp from the URL? Why he would be experimenting with that URL, I'm not really sure, though.
Alternatively maybe he's recording metrics on how long it takes users to click the chatbox link from the time the page is loading.
Now I want to know, too.
