Three years ago today, the HATPCG and the PCCA joined forces to create an inter-guild for HATPC fans all over the world. Since then, the Interguild has grown to be about all games with user-created content, mainly user levels. If you were with the Interguild when it started out, it's almost hard to believe that it's already been 3 years. It's amazing that some of us have managed to stay with the group all this time. The bulk of the Interguild's current history has been during our two years in the old Interguild phpBB forums.

I still remember visiting the forums almost daily. There were lots of new caves being made, and competitions held. There were also the crazy forum shenanigans: Count to 1000! (later changed to 2500, and then 5000, and that topic's epic finish), the mod's post-editing wars which led to trouble, the points system with all its donating options and richest users and stuff, plus the shop where you could drastically change the colors of your post. I remember the crazy spambot invasions, the conspiracies behind purple/kitti/catta, when the separate guilds died, leaving only the PCCA, and then that died too, as the Interguild was the only thing people cared about. I remember how Haily helped us make that first video archive, and how our old level galleries were separate forum topics in the Level Galleries Board.

I remember how there was a Mod Forum, and a useless Staff Forum. And the Caving Elections, which was supposed to be an end-of-the-year awards thing where we nominated the best caves made in 2007 to win awards in various categories (I think we should go back through those and add them to our awards database [which we now have, apparently]), and how the Caving Elections took forever to get done, too. Then there was the Great Uploader Glitch, how it started on the April Fools weekend and lasted for like two months, and how we launched a crazy error-report spam attack demanding that it'd be fixed, and then the Second Great Uploader Glitch (I believe I gave those glitches those names, lol) which was in the following Januaray. And then how I got the crazy idea that we make our own HATPC, and that got people excited and it morphed into the Aeon project, and how that led the way towards the Interguild being a site for multiple games, and eventually, all games that members could submit.

I remember how I started building the new site when my summer vacation started. At one point, I posted updates on the progress the site was making on the new site itself, but the register page was closed to the public (it kept asking for that verification code, which did not exist, lol), and how it was released 2-3 weeks before the start of 2009, and how I somehow, miraculously managed to make the level galleries and the competitions archive just before the new year. I also remember how we planned to move several topics from the old forum to here; we put them all in one big "transition board", but those topics were never moved here. The old interguild forums almost died like crazy during this transition period.

But so far it's been about nine months in this site too. At the beginning of this year, all we had was HATPC, the level galleries (now called level database), the video archive, and the forums. I worked a lot on this site; I remember my big list of things to do and the great progress I made on it. I remember fixing all those early glitches, adding all those staff powers, how quirvy would use the censors to blow up the site. April Fools on the Interguild was the craziest April Fools ever thanks to those censors. I remember that white-and-blue basic layout that we used to have, how I finally updated it over the summer. And how it took some of us forever to get used to the fact that there are people posting in that chatbox at the top of the page. And now we've gotten so used to having a real level database, and a forum topic for nearly every page on this site, lol. And being able to keep track of your unread posts even if you logout. And the google custom search on the sidebar that just doesn't work...

And now here I am making this giant post and wow, so much stuff happened in these three years.

P.S. Anyone realize that there was no weekly update this week? oh well, think of this as your weekly update.

I remember all of that, except for the creation of the Interguild. As I wasn't around yet. But I do remember the Rater's Guild joining the Interguild.

I remember Fungus, Magnus, Flame, Marz, GAW. I remember a lot.

Good post. Out of interest, is this the date when I officially made an 'interguild' and started looking for guilds or the date when I found the PCCA?

likewise. it gives you some kind of a pleased feeling - you're here for so long, you're like an elder. There are so many moments...

remember when isa came? and ck at the same week? that was a hellova week, i'd say. 'twas more than a year and a half ago. we were little children.. our young members were super young hehe.

the Kitti era. the cedric era. the time when csd released a big cave like, once in a week or something - i wish i had been there.
remember when Mastermind came out. Imperio. lots of forgotten caves by forgotten members; the yearly glitches!

..so many things..

Actually I arrived way before Ck; I made my first post at New Years Eve. I joined, though, less than two weeks after TehMarz and Mystic_Brendan, and on the same day as wileywoo.

anyways. when i have time, aka Thursday eve+, i may start some stuff. this includes, level 10 Points mastery with csd, first cave marathon(lots of first caves of people), Triathlon, or dunnowhat.

I remember all of them, but GAW and Mugnus.

And I do remember 90% of what Livio mentioned.

Spike World --> WIN. Hence the walkthrough that I made. GAW never made a better cave than that.

Wow, the Interguild could 'legally' join the Interguild now. Happy (belated) birthday to it!
