This is a video tutorial on how to use the water drain glitch. Gotta love how the video over-glorifies it.

my first vid made using my awesome Adobe products, and it's one of my best vids, too. Even though it's about 3 minutes, it feels very short.

EDIT: no wait, this was my second video made with Adobe stuff. My first was my HATPC in 4 Minutes

While the video was good, the whole water drain thing was way overhyped. From what I remember, you guys acted like it was going to change the face of hatpc. The problem was, it wasn't.

you should add more info, like when my first CC #22 comp cave got glitched up because the water filled higher than 10 tiles.

5 from me for the video.

Yeah, Accel. You really should make the rest of the Manual. I have a favourite hobby of reading, and I'm really tired of reading the same parts over and over again!!

I've actually been getting ideas for stuff to put in the manual. I'll get back to it during peacetime (basically when I'm not under stress to fix/add things around the site)

Me too. My parents gave me their library card if not I'll have to go to the library every other days because I can read two books per day. So far the only new thing that came out was the Fake Crate Guide, and I'm 100% sure that that was included in the old Interguild under the Caving section of the page.

We ran into it from a random cave. I think onarole96 made the cave? but we noticed that the water tap stopped all of a sudden and we went investigating....

I made this crazy cave for research purposes:

What a ridiculous amount of quality and polish for a video about something like this.

Yeah, Accel worked on this for a month, and hyped it a lot, and said that he couldn't do this or that because he was busy working on that water tap glitch video.

actually the hype came b/c I took so long. I believe the cause was school and not b/c I was putting so much effort into it.

Sorry to be a naggy bumper, but I was wondering if water drains could be manually created by metal crates (using arrows/dynamite to knock down crates into the right formation)? If so, then I can see the potential in this glitch. The only use I can think for it otherwise is filling certain rooms with water without filling others. If this is possible to form with crates, then there can be a lot of puzzle and speeds traps used.

Nah. Water goes right through everything except terrain and secret areas. The only thing it's good for is stopping a tap when it's not possible to just let it drain out the bottom of the cave.

EDIT: as csd, already said:
No, because water taps only react to terrain, and passes right through metal crates. Therefore, you can use water taps like that in any speed trap (unless you make it so that you have to avoid the rising water? You can use water crates to make the water rise dramatically when time runs out)

btw, thanks for bumping this up. I should make a written guide for this glitch.

uh wow, i had an incredible idea:
it is a water cave, when water are dripping, filling the cave. you have to get through a whole level only to make sure that you hit a water tap crate that will start another water tap, which will cause both of them to stop with the water drain. oh, if only you could have one tap activated while the other isn't...

whoa, for a second, I was starting to think that that was a great idea, but of course... Why does HATPC have to be so restrictive?

we have big plans for water in Aeon. However, that's all assuming that I will be able to get it to work.
