Never again will there be a game such as this.  Never again shall a game be hyped for so much.

Just joined the Interguild Steam group. I probably won't do much overall on there, but hastily made a Steam account to snipe Jorster's code for Thief Gold from the chatbox. I really just needed a new game to play during my breaks between classes since I beat Donkey Kong Country last month. Might ask for a gift card for my birthday (this would be a good excuse to play a lot of stuff I've been  meaning to play), but don't expect a lot of activity or monetary acquisitions from me.

So, is there anyway to make chat invitations not come up on the computer? I would've preferred to download Steam on my laptop, but I did my computer first out of convenience and I don't want chat invites coming up while I'm not home. Or do you only get chat invites if you're logged onto Steam?

You only get chat invites while steam is running in the background, and you're logged in. If you want to not get them, you can log out.

Classy names are my specialty

In my task of completing old games, I have 100% cleared Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (I had completed the game a few months ago and only needed 3 more pieces of heart, which took no time to collect) and Donkey Kong 64. This one took a bit longer.
-I needed to beat the Donkey Kong arcade twice, once for the Golden Banana and once for the Nintendo coin. This one was a real pain, but after a dozen tries I learned all the patterns and the safe spots in 75m.
-The final Golden Banana I still needed to collect was from the mecha-fish. It turns out that once you collect the sniper scope, it causes so much lag that the banana actually becomes impossible, so I kept failing it. But I learned that the lag went away if you put away your gun between shots, so I finished it in one try now with lots of time to spare.
-I got the final key, unlocked K. Lumsy and beat K. Rool in a boxing match.
-And finally, after all was done, I collect all the remaining small bananas. I got all of these except the final 10 Diddy bananas without a guide (a balloon which popped up after failing a puzzle, I was not prepared for that).

I looked up the most damaging Pokemon, and this insane explanation came up:
Quote:
A level 100 Shuckle can potentially deal the most damage in one single attack through the use of numerous stat boosters; by using Helping Hand by two different Pokémon in a Triple battle, holding a Metronome, Power Trick, a Skill Swap to Pure Power or Huge Power, 6 Attack boosts, and a Mimiced Me First used on a slower Pokémon using the Defense Curl/Rollout combo. Also, Shuckle's partner must have the ability Flower Gift and the weather must be sunny. On the 5th turn of using Rollout consecutively without any misses, if used against a level 1 Ledyba, Yanma or Combee with minimum Defense stats, that have been hit with negative Defense modifiers (such as Screech), it can deal 481,266,036 damage with a critical hit

It's just a little overkill.

I think if you made it a Fire type through Colour Change and used V-Create with Flash Fire boost active, under the sun against a level 1 Paras with Dry Skin and minimum possible Defence, it would do more damage.
That Rollout would have a base power of 640, but with the 1.5 FF boost, 1.5 Sun boost and the 2 Dry Skin boost V-Create gets a net BP of 810 (ignoring all the other equal factors).

With Rollout at its peak and Defense Curl set up, Rollout has a base power of 960, not factoring in STAB or anything else.

You're right, I thought Rollout had a BP of 20, not 30.

And I've just done another playthrough through Castelvania: Symphony of the Night. This time I did my favourite type of playthrough, a max-luck playthrough. Start the game in Luck Mode, keep the starting Lapis Lazuli equipped throughout the game, as soon as you can get the Alucart equipment get that and use nothing else and as soon as you reach the inverted castle, get a second Lapis Lazuli to gain a Luck of 179, the highest you can get without a Luck Potion.
This prevents you from using the insanely overpowered stuff such as Crissaegrim or Shield Rod+Alucard Shield and your other stats start incredibly low, so the game becomes pretty challenging again.

My God, yes. But I'm holding out for the PC version (I've virtually retired my old 360). Trying very hard to avoid spoilers online over the next month.

Got Mirror's Edge and Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection for my birthday. I never really understood before how people could say they had video game backlogs, but having Demons Souls, Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma: Darkness Arisen, and the two previously mentioned all unplayed, WHILE I'm still wading through Just Cause 2, I totally understand. I also got a Gamestop giftcard which I'll probably spend on a game which comes out at the end of the month, AKA not making it better. Just Cause 2 is too big. I've played massive games like Skyrim and Dragon Age Origins before, but I played both of those after I had beaten all the other games I received from the holidays I got them for. DAO went fine because the gap from my birthday to Christmas is much larger than Christmas to my birthday, and I was so Skyrim obsessed that I didn't bother asking for any games for my birthday that year.

Just Cause 2 is a lot of fun, but the developers did a pretty terrible job of pacing the gameplay. If the mission to location ratio in Skyrim was 100:100 (just an approximation for the example), then Just Cause 2's would be 25:100, as in they give you way too much area to explore for a minuscule main campaign and a decent chunk of side missions. I've only had 3 missions left to do for about 2 months now, I'm just try to complete/even discover all the locations. They don't give you a trophy for 100% completion, only 75%-- because they don't expect you to go all the way.

Now that I understand one can have TV, book, and video game backlogs. I am also disappointed to say I have a Lego backlog. No shelf room for anymore sets, 4 boxes remain unopened .

Don't bother with the story in JC2 at all IMO, so boring compared to just cruising around destroying things

Trying the Pokemon Emerald Battle Frontier again, this time the Battle Palace (three round combats, if both Pokemon are still alive at that point a judge ranks both on three categories to decide who wins). I think I have a winning team now in Gengar/Metagross/Latios.

-Gengar is a special sweeper with Thunderbolt/Ice Punch/Taunt/Destiny Bond @Salac Berry. Tries to sweep, if it is about to faint it uses Destiny Bond to take one last Pokemon down with it. Guaranteed to take out at least one Pokemon, likely to take out two or three. Taunt is turning out to be a bit useless, I am thinking about replacing this with another offensive move such as Psychic. The Salac Berry is mostly filler, to ensure I get out the Destiny Bond if Gengar's at low health.
-Metagross is an Agility sweeper with Agility/Meteor Mash/Earthquake/Explosion @Lum Berry. Bulky to set up one Agility on pretty much anything, Lum Berry ensures it will heal one status condition and Metagross is powerful enough to beat most things one on one. Just like Gengar, if it is in a matchup it can't win, Metagross sacrifices itself with Explosion to take the opposition down with him. Furthermore, Metagross 4x resists Psychic and is neutral to Dark and Ghost, so it is a decent follow-up to Gengar.
-Latios is a Calm Mind sweeper with Calm Mind/Thunderbolt/Psychic/Surf @Leftovers. Used to have Recover instead of Surf, but I realized that I never had the time to use it in the Palace and Surf's coverage is too good to give up. Cleans up whatever remains. Wins against most things 1v1, which is all that is needed after Gengar and Metagross sacrifice themselves. Furthermore, Latios resists Ground and Fire, which are Metagross's two weaknesses, so he is a perfect follow-up.

Works amazingly well. Gengar and Metagross are both guaranteed to take out at least one Pokemon, which leaves Latios to clean up. I have only tried this out in the Battle Palace so far, but I suspect it will work even better in the Battle Tower where I'm able to switch.

Edit: I mean Arena, not Palace.

Upon hearing that GTA V is coming to PC, I decided to install GTA IV on my new computer and try it again, with a slightly better computer.

To add onto all the criticisms jell has had for that game, I think I figured out why I don't like GTA IVs story; we get introduced to new characters, play a few missions with them, and then don't work with them ever again. They don't build character depth through missions, but instead try to do it by having the player hang out with some of them. The big problem with that (besides people not wanting to play pool/darts, ect.) is that the depth built doesn't really matter much in regards to the story, because by the end of the game all of those people are no longer actively involved in any missions, so the missions end up feeling a bit hollow. The lone exception being Packie. All in all, it felt like they tried to involve too many characters instead of focusing on a select number. Niko goes through so many bosses/partners that by the end of the story, that Packie is the only person I'd say I was involved in enough missions with to care about.

And they really should have put in some sort of option to disable the color filter; the gloomy grey style is just silly, and LC looks much better without it.

I also noticed that we either go to scumbag Francis' or junkie Derrick's funeral, but when our girlfriend Kate or cousin Roman dies at the end, we never go to any funeral for them...

I'm thinking I might replay San Andreas to see how egregious they were with the way missions were done. I imagine pretty similar, so I'm curious how they managed to do it in a way that didn't end up leaving a negative impression on me.

I think you are confusing me with someone else. I never had major criticism for GTA IV. I did have criticism for GTA: SA, but that was more a rundown of things I thought VC did better than "This game sucks, play VC instead".

I thought that your stance was that SA was bad, and that IV was even worse. What were your thoughts on IV, then? Or have you not played it?

And to be clear, I don't think IV sucks; I still do enjoy it (otherwise I wouldn't have replayed it again), I just think that with the step forward in graphics and technology, they took a step backwards in most of the other aspects of the game. Hopefully they did better with V.
