It's like old man apocalypse on Skate 3... o.o

I was skating down the street like your average skater, bustin' out 360 kickflips and such. Then, I saw 2 senior pedestrians crossing the street... "yeah Cedric, big wow, you've never seen 2 older pedestrians in Skate 3 simultaneously?" no, I have not. I started hitting them with my skateboard out of boredom, until they got angry and started chasing me (on skate 3 you can hit random skaters and pedestrians, until they get angry with you and chase you wherever you go. if they catch up to you, they beat you up and you get respawned somewhere else. eventually they get out of breath and can't chase you anymore). I ran away, they stopped chasing me. Right when I thought for sure I had outran them, I see three more old pedestrians across the street. Three more! That's 5 seniors in one minute. o.o

Well my laptop is a Dell XPS. The XPS stand for extreme play station. You can probably pick out from this that it is good at PC gaming.

Laptops are never really as good as PCs, especially for what you get for money.

Yeah, but the obvious advantage is that laptops are portable, while desktops are just on top of desks. But I still like my little old desktop

I prefer PCs over laptops; especially since the PC has better speakers, performances, and two screens, lol. if they were the same - I'd usually still prefer the PC tho =\

Ha. I'm gonna get an awesome desktop in a week or two. I'm building it myself from ordered parts and it's gonna eat videogames for breakfast, lunch, mid-afternoon snack, dinner, post-dinner snack, and supper. And possibly midnight-snack. And dessert.

I'm going to buy a new PC soon too, probably this weekend I'll start searching. What will your new computer have? what budget are you going to use?

I wouldn't mind my PC, if the default that came with it wasn't ******* Windows Vista. But the speed is relatively bearable, and the monitor is big. I also prefer PCs because even when I'm not gaming and just surfing the web, I like the mouse.

Despite what I hear about windows vista, my computer runs on it, and it runs very well in general. So legitimate question: what exactly is it about Vista that makes it so terrible?

Vista is great. I've heard too that people find it terrible, but from my experience with my old Vista computer, it's fairly legit. also, you probably shouldn't stay away from downgrading/updating to Vista just because you heard other people say that it's the worst operating system on the planet.

I think it is a terrible operating system. I have never used it myself, but Rainalonto's computer uses it, and it is among the worst computers with the most problems I have seen in my life.

My laptop plays Heroes of Might and Magic III

OMGEE 3DO FTW!!!

I play that as well as might and magic vi - mandate of heaven. too bad 3do went bankrupt
their release of mm9 was too modernised and flopped in the market.
sigh, if only gaming companies could make games like mm6 or Homm3 where everything was of mediocre quality yet gameplay was simple and enjoyable. if they could expand either, i definitely wouldn't mind. i just don't find much fun in HD 3D games that revolve around such genres of games

I didn't really know where else to post this.

For some reason, C++ always cuts off a letter from an answer.

So, for example when I answer 'Yes', it comes up with 'es'.

Anybody have a solution?

Random chat perhaps? Potentially ask sprout.

I'd like to, but that's kind of vague. Is it reading input, or just printing something, or is reading input and then printing it out?

The best I can do is that maybe you've made a mistake in array, like printing out an array of characters, and when your printing out the characters, you skipped the 0 index, but I don't actually know C++ (only C), and I don't know how you're doing anything so I can't really say much.

I'm looking to spend up to $3000 or so, and I'm looking at an 8-core, solid-state disk, 16GB RAM, and a top of the line graphics card, mostly because I need one for work. I haven't decided which GC I want, though. I'll probably run windows 7 and have a partition with ubunto.

Vista and 7 suffer from using their system resources very inefficiently, compared to most other operating systems. They also tend to have security issues to the point that the average user can't use most of their computer's capabilities. Of course, more experienced or technically savvy users don't have that problem, but it's still evidence of bad design.

Sorry if this sounds lame, but I can really give a straight answer. My brother's laptop and all my school's computers run on Windows 7 though, and it's just a lot better by comparison, IMO.

hey I have XPS, too! Combined with the extended battery, it's pretty huge and bulky, but I love it.

mah, that's a lot >< I was aiming at something more like 1000$ worth; currently looking at an Intel i7 2600, 3.4GHz with 8GB of RAM and DDR3 1.3GHz. hard drive is around 1 TB, graphics card is G-force GT 520(what does that mean? lol)

I don't need an overpowerful computer for me; I have one at work in case of need to run battlefield 3 but I still need to upgrade the piece of earlobe that runs here..

To build on this, it has a terrible user friendliness. Look at the permission thing. It shows a pop-up every time you start pretty much anything and asks you if you want to run it. It is a good idea, to stop hackers from gaining easy access, but in reality it is so annoying most people turn it off.
