you know Flash, different people have different interpretations as to what 'funny' means. everyone's entitled to their own opinion, after all. I suggest that you would please think about other people before you say something, and not be so self-centered. of course this is only my opinion, but still.

GTA San Andreas. I'd been wanting to play it for a while, but I didn't have it installed on this computer, and I didn't know where the CD disc was. I figured there was some key to go with it that you would need if you wanted to install it, so I never tried, but then recently I was reminded of GTA SA and decided to try it, and apparently there was no key on the CD case.

It's also made me realize that GTA IV was a huge step in the wrong direction. In comparison to SA, it's prettier, less fun and more depressing. And you have to consider that all new video games are going to be prettier than their predecessors.

GTA SA was by far the best in the GTA series. It's on my list of stuff to play when I get my super-awesome-not-as-good-as-sniper's computer, despite the fact that I've played it before. that game was awesome, and it was BIG. I wanna see how GTA V is going to be.

I personally can't make a fair judgement between it and its predecessors since it was the first one I played. But it's definitely better than IV. They traded in fun cheats (riot mode + everyone armed + other optional cheats = fun) for bowling with your cousin.

GTA SA definitely did have some weakpoints, though. The whole fat, muscle, ect system that constantly changed your appearance or whatever was unnecessary and kind of annoying. But GTA IV had a lot more shortcomings.

And I'm definitely excited for GTA V. From the first trailer it looks like a step in the right direction (country side and planes).

the muscle/body system was necessary; for example, if you had too much muscles, then you wouldn't be able to start dating a girl or something. each girl wanted a different looking man. and stamina affected your running time, and fat too, to the other direction of course; and muscle added power to your punches etc.

That was nice; I had times where I needed to lose weight, so I left the computer on and went to eat so that he'll starve XD. but then when all the fat goes, he starts eating his muscles, and then dies. eventually I got back, saw 0 muscles 0 fat and in hospital, GRRRR gotta go to gym again XD

Man, I always hated it when I'd rediscover old PC games of mine that I wanted to play, only to realize I lost the key printed in the manual or case. That's happened to me at least 3-4 times. I amazingly got around it once though by typing in, "free (game name) key" in Google. That never works with site passwords, but the key I found actually worked.

I get that it had a purpose, but I felt that the game would have been better had they not used it. You could have gotten rid of them, and just not had the girlfriends need  The fat/hunger system has been at times annoying.

And as I said, I actually didn't mind stamina and other stats like it. I just specifically wasn't a fan of the ones that had an effect on your appearance. CJ looked really weird in general at the start of the game, and I suspect that's because they chose to make his body dynamic or something.

One funny story relating to it, though, is that there's this cheat that sets time to midnight and makes it stay like that. And when you deactivate the cheat, time moves really fast until it catches up with where it should be. And one time I did that cheat for a while apparently, and then eventually deactivated it. Hunger caught up with me, my fat, muscles and health all dropped before I could reach any food source. It was actually kind of funny.

But other times it wasn't so funny. I was in the middle of the paramedic side mission, and I was getting hungry and needed to eat, and I didn't think that I could finish the paramedic mission in time (I thought I needed to do 20 levels, I was almost done with 12, there are only 12 levels), so I tried to get out really quickly and grab food, but the mission ended the moment I left the vehicle.

Another thing is the gang wars once you've completed the game; Once you finish the game, you basically need to spend all of your time in Los Santos until you win all of the territories, because if you go anywhere else, you'll probably have to go back within 24 minutes because the Ballas/Vagos are attacking the same neighborhood that they always do.

Still pales in comparison to the shortcomings of GTA IV. Hey, in the chatbox you said that you couldn't get past that train mission, but I could have sworn you said that you were stuck on the final mission a long time ago. You were even criticizing me for not completing the plane mission by Zero, which is much further into the game than that mission. I'm a bit confused. (also: next time you need to lose fat, use the bike machine in the gyms)

All you had to do was follow the damn train, CJ!

I much prefer Vice City and III over San Andreas. I felt San Andreas was simply too big with too little to do. It was just a large landscape of blandness. I don't like the story as much either.

are you kidding me? there was SOOOO MUCH to do there! even after giving up on the damned mission I still played the game for like weeks. Also, I preferred GTA II over GTA III. I have them both original in a disk I played GTA2 soooooo much when I was young. I spent nights with it when I was like, 8 years old XD

It's my opinion that you need that open space and large landscape to give players a space to escape. I enjoy being able to just cut across the open desert to get to the other side of the county, as opposed to GTA IV, where you were pretty much entirely confined to roads. I haven't played Vice City that much, but it also felt mostly confined to streets, with the exception of a huge, bland beach area.

And I disagree with the opinion that there's little to do in SA; I think that they put a lot of stuff in there, and not garbage stuff like bowling with your cousin.

I'm just going to put this all in one post:

Currently playing:
-Console: None
-Handheld: Pokemon TCG
-PC: Dwarf Fortress
Currently listening to: The Luna Sequence radio on Last.fm
Currently reading: Foundation's Edge
Currently watching: Tekkaman Blade

I think that covers all important media.

Edit: I just noticed I clicked on the wrong thread. Meh, care. This is what I'm currently play/read/listen/watching.

No, again. I have already beaten the game with all cards (except the two Card Pop cards) several times. Right now I am using a Wavemaker deck with Wigglytuff, Scyther and one of Electabuzz, Magmar or Hitmonchan, but I want to switch to a Rain Dance deck once I have enough Breeders. I also want to try a GB Zapdos deck, but without trading I can only get two of it at most, so I don't know how effective that will be.

Anyone else think the PS4 sounds pretty stupid? No backwards compatibility, and they focus seems to be shifting from gaming to social networking. I see nothing wrong with the PS3 as it is.

"But Yaya, did you really expect the PS4 to be what you wanted?"

No, but it's still frustrating. I actually feel like I'm somewhat catching up to the video game industry now. My average time between a game coming out to me buying it has gone from about 2 years to 4 months (Portal will be an outlier when I get to that). The PS4 will just be an excuse to stop putting out interesting stuff for the PS3. I know I'm totally jumping the gun.

I dunno. PS3 doesn't have backwards compability either, I think, and I know Xbox 360 did not. It's not an uncommon thing.

Since Super Smash Bros. X won't be released to PS4, I won't get it either way. =p

PS3 and Xbox 360 had limited backwards compatibility. Some older games worked, some didn't.

Also, I'm falling behind on the video game industry. Currently I'm mostly getting SNES and PSX games. Gog.com isn't helping either.
