Just Cause 2 is a truly sublime gaming experience. When making the game, normal developers would be like "this concept is cool, but is highly illogical and wouldn't make sense". The developers of Just Cause 2 say "**** it! Let's let you attach cars to jet planes by string, surf the skies on commercial airliners, and throw together every stereotypical southeast Asian country to create the setting and see what happens. Plot you ask?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av3gHQeBicA

That is the kind of quality storytelling you are in for.

I guess it's pretty similar to the GTA games in the sense that it's an open world game where you're encouraged to commit crime and there's different levels of police force, but it's so much fun.

Terraria.  I bought the game on January 1st, 2011 and only this past week have I realize just how awesome the game is.  I'm ashamed of myself for not giving it more of a chance instead of playing for just an hour and giving up.

Massive amounts of Skyrim for me. Although today I played the newest Tomb Raider game where Lara Croft gets marooned on an island Southeast of Japan. I played it for about 3 hours so far and it's pretty fun but my computer sucks so I don't get a very good framerate.

EDIT: Lol I just figured out how to lower the resolution and not have the screen be all squished and stuff. It took me a while to realize that I had to change the screen resolution of my computer as well as the in-game resolution. At least I get a much better framerate now.

I think I've said this here before, but The Stanley Parable is very good. It's hard to describe what it is exactly, basically a sort of comedy/adventure game, lots of trope deconstruction / metahumor type stuff. I'd advise against spoiling it with Youtube videos, it's best to go in without knowing what to expect. There's a demo that gets the general gist of it across pretty well and it's a separate thing from the main game.

I picked up Fez during the Steam sale too. The guy who made it is a bit nuts but that's usually a good sign.

I actually found myself putting that game down as I couldn't really stomach Phil Fish. Although it doesn't make much sense in my head, I felt a bit dirty playing a game made by him. Probably not a legitimate reason for not liking a game, but it's how I felt. I understand the stress that indie developers go through (the guy clearly goes through hell in Indie Game: The Movie) and I sympathise for him regarding the hate mob that he had to deal with, but he acted like a total arse when he had his little tantrum last year.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with that either. Had a similar problem with that whole Ender's Game / Orson Scott Card being a raging homophobe thing. It's best to let the art stand on its own, but it can definitely be an effort sometimes.

A random copy of Dishonored GOTY Edition arrived at my door from amazon, and no one I know has told me they've ordered it... But That's what I've been playing.

One of my all-time favourite games. It's at its weakest if you just try and get through it in the easiest possible way (i.e. all guns blazing while using Blink), so experiment with the powers to get the most out of it. And be sure to read the books and notes that are lying around; some of the back-story is very interesting.

Hmm, I was wondering if I should give that game a try, but most reviews I read were just "It's good". Too bad, it was on sale for $15 at Target last week and I skipped out on it. I did hear the total playtime gets cut significantly though if you do bum rush through it like you said. I guess it's good that they still give people the option to do so in case they find it too hard.

If only Demons Souls would have such a feature, lol. I ended up getting Dark Souls for Christmas and don't know what I'm gonna do with it since I haven't played Demons Souls in over a month. I asked for it before I played Demons Souls, and Dark Souls had already been bought for me by the time I realized I shouldn't have asked for it . With Demons Souls, I think I could beat it eventually if I had the time, but especially once school starts back up, I won't have enough time to put the effort needed into it and it will just cause me unneeded stress. I could play for probably 1 hour a day, but there's no motivation there if I know I'll spend most of that hour making no progress. I just don't think that sort of game is made for me.

I had the same problem with Dark Souls initially, hence I didn't play it at all for about three months after trying the tutorial level. Seriously, find a good Internet guide and use it when you aren't making any progress on your own; I'd highly recommend making the effort to get into it. It gets easier once you get reasonably competent with the controls as well.

Well after I mentioned Demons Souls the first time, I started over with what all the guides said was the easiest/most user friendly class, and practiced the 1 hit kill move until I was pretty good at it, but the difference in my success was pretty marginal. I did read several walkthroughs of the first level, but maybe it'd help to print them out and have them in front of me to reference whilst playing, or watch some video tutorials.

I just wanted to throw it out there that I reached my 150th hour in Pokemon X over the break and am only able to play on weekends (with a few exceptions, such as if we are on a break from school)

Bought Europa Universalis IV a month ago. It's a grand strategy game, 4X, call it whatever you like - you control a country of your choice, starting in 1444 and ending in 1821.

It is very complicated to get into, but once you get hang of it, it is great. Highly recommended.

Lol, that is literally not possible. DOTA 2 came out earlyish 2013. 16K hours is roughly 670 DAYS of straight playing. That is literally impossible.
