Kudos for Accel and Haily on finally getting the new site up and running, and for making it pretty slick too. =D
But there are some glitches to be dealt with, some design flaws to be brought up, and other similar discussions to be had. Cue this thread!
The only quirp with the new site I'm going to bother bringing up right now (it's 3 in the morning and I need sleep) is the size of the sidebar. The width, that is. It really imposes itself upon the site, specifically when you're posting in the forum. This is just a minor flaw that I feel really nitpicky for bring up, but... look at it. Doesn't it feel like it's squishing the forum to the right? Wouldn't a minimizable or smaller sidebar make it feel less cluttered and tight? I dunno.
But hopefully you guys bring up bigger flaws to be addressed than that. | | krotomo |

You must be used to using the old forums on a widescreen monitor. the way I see it, there are a couple ways to address this problem:
1) remove the sidebar for the forums
I don't like this idea. I'd like to keep some continuity throughout the site, and removing the sidebar from the forums will make the forums feel separated from the rest of the site again. And I don't want to do the same thing that happened on the old site where no one visited other pages (even when the front pages were being updated often). I'm not saying that removing the sidebar would cause that, but that I'd prefer if the forums looked like they were more a part of the site than a different section.
2) Make the sidebar somewhat floating on the side
This would make the sidebar end right after the last link, and then the rest of the page can fill in that space under. The only complication is that we'll have to make each post a new table (instead of just a new row of the overall table) and that would take a ton of text and make the pages load much slower. Plus, it might not look so good in the spot between the sidebar and its end.
3) Just get used to it
Our forums are much wider than the ones on haily's site, and his members got used to it. It's not that bad. | | krotomo |

I don't have a problem with the sidebar at all, though the top-bar bothers me a little. | | Quirvy |

I think everything is just fine, for now. Sidebar and topbar are good enough.

i think the way the forum is built is great, but i do think the graphics MUST improve. the design is too blue, kinda ripped out of the content of hatpc or..probably any other game that might come on this site...

The margin on the left and right is big, and I'd like it if you could change the style. Perhaps something looking like the style on the old forums as an option.
Edit:I also noticed this is easier to talk quick. | | krotomo |

I have an idea to make the forums feel less crammed. I'll work with the typography around here. I learned in graphic design that adding micro whitespace to your text and pages can make the page feel less crammed without actually changing anything. and the text on this site does need work on, along with the rest of the layout.
I don't think the layout is bad, it's just that it's not great. Shos, I don't get how this could look like it was taken from HATPC, unless you were talking about what I should do. I'll add a layout changer soon, and the first secondary layout would be the old black-gold color scheme. | | Silver |

Yeah. Most of the coloured colours (not black, but like green and purple) gave me eyesores because I have sharp eyesight and everything looks brighter than it seems to be. | | Isa |

Should we have achievements on this site? You know, achievements such as the ones in WoW, GTA, SSBB...Like, make a cave rated 9/10 or better after being rated by 5 persons or more, posting more than 500/1000/2500 posts, making at least three walkthroughs...It could work out pretty good. | | jellsprout |

They would be better as awards rather than achievements.

But the trophy lay-out will have to be changed.
