I don't follow football/soccer or particularly enjoy it, but I know that England is gonna own the USA. There, I said it.

Yeah!

Anyway I think that England have the easiest group of all of them.
I laughed when I saw North Korea, I mean, do they even have a football strip?

Everyone should place bets on Spain winning their group. Easiest group ever.

As I said in the chatbox, don't count on France, ever.

With two draws in the first round, I think Group A is wide open. I think Uruguay will win against South Africa because of their really good offense, but regarding the other matches, I am not as sure. I think Uruguay will go on through to play a fourth game, though.

The US of A is not centered around "football", we even stole the name for a different sport. Uk will beat (no be) America, no doubt.

They could, but there is the problem that the UK sucks. Just a bunch of spoiled worthless brats, that care more about the other players' wives than the game. IIRC, they barely made it to the WC too. I don't think they even made it to the EC 2 years ago.

No, we didn't. Apparently, according to my Uncle (he lives there) Australia think they will win. Yeah, I think Italy will win again.

Italy doesn't stand a chance.
I think Germany will win, with Germany, Spain, Brazil and the Netherlands entering semis.

Ooh, finally someone who thinks their country will do well. The thing is with all these European sides- Germany, Spain, France, England- Is that they always argue.

What?

UK won a bunch of matches in a row on their way to the World Cup. They lost a few of the last ones, but that was OK because by then they had already won their group and secured an advancement to the World Cup. They made it to quarter finals four years ago,  which is pretty decent to say the least.

It's true that they didn't qualify for the European Championship two years ago though.

The Netherlands is second or third on the FIFA rankings list. England and France however have been struggling for the past four years.
I don't think we'll win, but we will get pretty far.

You don't qualify for the EC by beating countries not from your region.

Yeah. England were bad though. At least two teams go through to the quarter finals.

EDIT: Greece got pwned by South Korea. Probably because of them being bankrupt, though they did win Euro 2004...

CORRECT

Conclusion: Jellsprout is, as usual, the voice of reason

I'd say that Isa was wrong too, but he never really took a stance, and he instead just argued that the UK wasn't as bad as jell claimed they were.

That said, I don't know particularly much about the world cup other than that the US isn't going to win it. As yaya said, we here in the US generally don't care about soccer as much as other countries do, because we have 3.5 other major sports that we follow instead (hockey only counts as half of a sport, because of how much more the Canadians care about it)

I personally don't pay attention to soccer, because it's usually too low scoring, and I'm also not a big fan of how often games end up in ties. Of course, this is probably because I was raised watching other sports; If I grew up anywhere outside of the US, I'm sure that I'd be crazy about soccer.

Although, I will say, all of the sports organizations (NFL, MLB, NBA) have problems within them that cause me to dislike each of them, along with the entire college football (american) playoff system, too.
