So, I was thinking, man, forums are pretty inactive...

You know what we need? Some forum game, like we had in the old days.

Unfortunately, none of those worked too well, or they "worked" but mods just didn't like parts of them (word association = no discussion = spam, count to 5000 = mega-spam, never-ending story = always made no sense, ect)

But, I thought, you know, maybe we should combine all of those ideas, into one forum game, and then see what happens, because quite honestly, why not?

So, we've got word association, Never-Ending-Story, count to 5000, and Guess the Number...

So, here's how it's gonna go down!

One guy's gonna add a sentence to the never-ending story, and then someone's going to post right after them, claiming word association. Then people are going to guess the word they associated the new sentence with. Now, because it'd be ridiculous to expect everyone to guess the word, because there are so many:

If the letter that begins with the word they guessed also begins with the actual word, they get 1 point, and they get to write the next sentence to the story.

If they get the entire word right, they get 3 points, and get to write the next sentence to the story.

First person to 5000 wins.

Also:
Each story will actually end, just whenever it actually ends.

You're allowed to make new paragraphs in the story to make it look better and not like a wall of text.

If the person who claims word association doesn't post in 2 days to confirm who got it right, or to tell us no one got it right, then the first person to guess gets the opportunity to write the next sentence, but no one gets any points, except for the guy who didn't show up, who loses a point for holding out on us.

If someone gets it, but doesn't show up for a day to make the new sentence, person guessing after him, first person to guess in the round gets it(no points, but makes new sentence). But the guy who got it still gets a point, or 3 if they got it totally right.

If you made the sentence, you can't guess the word until at least 2 other people have guessed.
Guesses = 2 at a time
Can only make another guess after 2 other people have made guesses

Also don't guess a word that begins with a letter that another person's guess begins with, because if then you can't get it right.

Example:

Guy 1: (start of story) One day canadianstickdeath decided that he wanted to take over the interguild.
Guy 2: my association
Guy 3: Awesome
Guy 4: Evil
Guy 2: Nope
Guy 5: Pineapple!
Guy 1: Overlord!
Guy 3: D52!
Guy 2: Guy 3 wins, because it was determination(?)
(Guy 3 gets 1 point)
Guy 3: One day canadianstickdeath decided that he wanted to take over the interguild. He sent out an interguild carrier pigeon to enlist the help of D52
(they continue to guess)

Any questions? Good?
(if you do just post them)

I'll start by taking what DBX said in the chatbox

"It was a cold, stormy night."

Cuz we don't want one person to keep on guessing and no one else to have a shot at it

2 Rule Changes:
Sentence maker must wait for 2 people to guess before being able to guess (previously 3)
2 guesses at a time(previously 1)

Second change only takes effect after end of this round, since 2 people have already guessed.

I'll go with Cliché

Quirvy is awarded with 1 point, I thought of Chilly/Chili. Yeah, I know I was only supposed to think of one, but hey, they sound almost the same, which is why I came to think of them both at the same time. It makes perfect sense!

Scoreboard?

Someone writes a sentence to add to the story, someone gets chosen to associate a word with the new sentence, and people guess what that word is.

Since there are so many words that it could be, you still get a point if the word you guess begins with the same letter as the actual word. If you guess the word right, you get 3 points, starting letters are the same, 1 point. And if you win the points, you get to write the next sentence.

Anyways.

"It was a cold, stormy night. Everyone remained inside, as usual, for fear of the oppressive regime of bunnies led by their Overlord."

Well, either you'd call word association, in which case you'd choose a word associated to the last sentence of the story.

If you don't call word association, then you'd guess what that word might be.

You might guess like

"serious
important"

Then you'll have to wait for 2 more people to make guesses.

If one of your words starts with the same letter as the actual word (or is the word) you win the round.

or you'll go back on here, be like, "hm, what was that word... Oh yeah, it's in my bookmarks" check it, and then delete the bookmark when it's no longer your turn.
