Quirvy, I think you should be given Admin powers on the server. Livio usually doesn't get around to doing things like promoting people very quickly; you would probably be able to do it faster. Tell Livio about that. If he's reluctant about it, tell him that if he makes you an admin you won't have to bug him whenever someone wants to become a Builder or be promoted.

Have you guys seen those new wing things in the newest snapshot? Forget what they're called but you get them in the End and you can glide around with them, it looks awesome.

Also, they changed boats. A lot. In 1.9 they'll be like rowboats... but you still face forwards... so kind of like a rowboat-canoe? I dunno. They don't break if you slam into a block anymore but they go slow as hell, I think you have to synchronize your paddling to go any faster.

I don't like the new changes they're making on boats. Slowing them down makes them just about completely useless; right now we can just go through the Nether or ride a horse if we want to go long distances, and boats are so flimsy nowadays that they're barely worth using. They should also make minecarts faster.

So I've been thinking about this a lot recently: It would be cool if someone made a mod combining all the best features of Alpha/Beta and the current versions. So it could be like, the old passive mob spawning system, health regeneration system, and boat physics but with all the new blocks and doors and sprinting and stuff.

Boats are indestructible in 1.9.

So apparently in 1.9 there's some new arrows. They're cool; one type sort of marks any entity it hits, so you can see its outline through blocks. Also the new blocks look cool.

Yeah, I saw that. It looks interesting. Did Mojang give a release date for 1.9?

Just upgraded the server to 1.8.8!

The world border no longer appears on the map for reasons that I couldn't figure out. Apparently minecraft now has a built-in world border feature so that we no longer need our plugins, but like other vanilla server features, they assume that you only have one world on your server, so we're still using our old plugin.

I did update our map plugin to run off of a database rather than having it generate thousands of files, which should theoretically improve the map's performance, but so far it seems to be as fast/slow as usual.

The in-game maps that were placed in Different's Spawn seem to be missing, but nothing seems to have happened to the maps in survival's spawn. No idea what caused that since the files and configurations for both worlds were loaded in the same way.

The maps in Spawn have been gone for a little while, I have no idea who destroyed them but it could have happened a lot of ways. Ghasts, tnt, creepers, arrows, or just punching. I never made copies of the maps (that I can locate, at least, though I might have some hidden in a chest somewhere in the city... if I can find it), so I'll probably just have to redo it. Shouldn't take long though.

I just got a brilliant idea a few minutes ago. So I was reading about artificial intelligence on Wikipedia, and I thought it would be cool if I did something like that in Minecraft. So I've decided to build a giant redstone machine that will play Quartermaster General, my favorite board game.

Some of us should commit to coming on at a certain time of some day or something like that. No one is very motivated to play minecraft when there's no one on the server. I know one of mymop/mutts started woring on the guardian farm's city, and I still haven't totally finished my vertical village, so there's still that work to do. Or we could always just go caving/mining or something like that

My brother, his friend and I have been on recently. However, we're not working near spawn so I guess there's that.

Just so you know, I live in the Eastern time zone. On week days, I usually come on in the late afternoon/early evening. On weekends, the time I'll be on is unpredictable.

Oh, so you actually still log onto the server? I can come on during the weekdays, but probably only after like 9pm EST. Besides that I'm usually free on Saturdays

I'm usually not on past 8PM EST on week days. But yeah, I do come on every now and then. In the past week I've built a lighthouse, a crane, and started a cargo ship, for example.

Also, by the way, I usually don't come on the server on Mondays; too much stuff to do (orchestra rehearsals, etc.).

I've been logging on occasionally. I finished the Beacon Line last month and some people were online to witness it. Right now I'm building an underground expansion to my house in survival

I've mostly only been on Creative. The other day I finished the roof on a large building of mine. It now has a pattern which I think is pretty cool.

I don't feel motivated enough to play if there's nobody else on. Which is why I was thinking it would be nice if we could coordinate coming on or something like that, but apparently that's hard since you and mutts live on the east coast.

my brother and i go on occasionally, but similarly it's based on his work schedule so it's kinda iffy. most people are free saturdays. maybe we could do something then?
