Yeah, none of that stuff works. We'll probably end up prioritizing the editor during the next sprint, since it seems like we've been getting things just barely working with it while focusing on other things.

I was expecting us to make more progress by now, but that was a really dumb estimate because I didn't take into account how little experience my teammates had with making games specifically. I thought they would get mostly tripped up with learning Flash, but that went a lot more smoothly than anticipated. The real problems came up in not understanding how some of the game's various systems worked, or not understanding them well enough to come up with solutions that fit nicely with everything else.

It's been a great learning experience so far. But we still have a lot more polish to add.

You can techinically start making your own levels now. Just upload them to the database, then in the game click on "Play User Levels" and insert the ID number of your level. I might post later more info about how exactly to do this, but until then, we're trying to get the game ready for our final sprint review.

I'll admit, my favorite part right now is the arrow box breaking sound.

When you make a level, does it just give you a random 5 character number as the ID, or what?

You submit it into the IG, and then the id on the IG is the one that you use. You can see the ID in the URL

can we already dubmit bugs?

1. sometimes the metal crates don't all fall
2. if they fall on you you don't die
3. if they fall on you and you jump into them you get bounced to the right through them until it is free, kinda like armin flies through the floor in my cave. if you do that high enough, you'll also fly through the wall to the other side of the door, lol.

this is pretty neat and awesome.

4. if a metal crate falls on you and you jump into it before it lands, you push it upwards.

Just uploaded the latest version of the game. It includes many bug fixes, the ability to actually die and restart the level, although a few sound effects went missing for some reason.

I think I just need to put in a preloader. The file is fairly big, and if you have a slow connection, it looks like nothing loads. For instance, I just tried loading it on my apartment's internet while also downloading the latest minecraft server backup, and it just took forever to load.

I also need to optimize which files are being stored in the game, and which ones can be loaded in later. For instance, the level backgrounds can probably be loaded in as-needed, but other things, like Sprites and animations should probably continue to be included in the game file.

I just created a superawesome level in Aeon and I got shockwave error in the university computer and it's all gone

bugs:
sometimes the level is not what it is in the editor
the select tool is bugged and sometimes(?) cannot be undone
you cannot select just one tile

Would be nice if ducking moved slower so I could do precise movements. What all else are you guys planning to add in the near future? Or maybe you should just surprise me :p

That way when it doesn't happen it's not a disappointment.

These may or may not be obvious already, but having wooden dynamite crates seems a little bit silly if all they just act as metal dynamite crates that kill you when you touch them, and either the sound for dynamite still needs some work, or the rate of explosion needs to be lowered. Maybe both. Consider making a few more explosion sounds. The dynamite sound is okay alone, but when a bunch explode at the same time it doesn't sound very good.

I think it's a little silly how you go flying when you die.  Well, actually it's okay how you do that, but I dislike how far you go flying.  Just saying, it looks dumb when you go flying when you get crushed by a falling crate.

For the future, possibly different dying animations?

getting hit by rock/metal crate = crushed
getting hit by arrow = falling
hit by dynamite = fly back

Just some thoughts of things you could possibly add in the future:

-Green sticky goo stuff: can't jump as high off of it
-Purple bouncy block: bounce off of it
-Fuse-block thing: like, a fuse to set off dynamite/arrows or something. You would have to activate something at the end of the fuse to start it, not sure what yet, and it would act like a bunch of arrows kind of except it's harmless and takes somewhat longer
-Glass block: you can see through and walk on it, but maybe you have to shoot it with an arrow (?) to break it
-Pinecone: like a gem in HatPC

These are just some random thoughts of things that popped into my head because I think that Aeon should have more... stuff than HatPC or HatIC.
