The comps system is now fully operational. You can go to the competition's page and look around, but there's not much to look at yet. To fully enjoy it we need to start a new competition and see it in action.
The way it works is that admins can go to the Add News page to create new competitions. Then members can enter levels from their level galleries into the competition. The comp will automatically close at the end of the specified end-date.
The judging system has also changed significantly. Only admins can assign judges to a comp, and you can't view The Judges Page unless you've been assigned to judge a comp or if you're an admin. To judge a comp, judges will simply rank the levels from best to worst, and then the admin will take the average of all the judge results and publish them. And then they can release a news post with the results.
But this is another archive, so you should be able to browse through past competitions. That's still under construction, and I plan to fill the archive with all information about past competitions manually through the database. And when I do that, I'll also make the Browse Competitions page work. There will also be a search feature to go along with it, but that's also under construction.
Like I said, we should start a competition to get this system up and running. I'm planning on releasing a new PCCA comp this Saturday.
And this marks the end of my plan as stated in my "Construction" news post. I'm amazed that I was able to get all of it done before 2009 (my time, anyway). Now the Interguild is practically on its feet again. All we have to do now is build up activity. User Comments (11) | GF4 |

Sounds good. Too bad thats like right before school starts up again.
Also, I noticed the words on the right column can't be fully seen in IE.

those are the words
Your entry must follow the theme of the competition or tournament round.
You must enter your entry before the competition or tournament round is over.
The competition or tournament round can get extended for a maximum of one extra week.
Plagiarizing another person's level, or part of a level, will result in complete disqualification.
You are allowed to join a tournament even if you did not join the previous rounds. However, note that you will be placed at a disadvantage.

ok, its fixed. evil IE...
since this is going to be the Interguild's first comp of 2009, and the first comp in a long time, AND the first comp on the new site, the theme has to be perfect. it has to be interesting, and allow for lots of variety. it has to be as phenomenal as the "PCCA's CC#10: Steel", where we were able to get the largest number of entries ever, but it has to be something we haven't done before, so that it can be a fresh theme for everyone. Not another random comp or small cave or steel. I'll be thinking about it. and until the comp is released, you guys can discuss ideas for the next theme in here. maybe you'll inspire me. | | Silver |

If it's steel, I can do Cloud Tower.
And you can see a HATPC look of Edlin, a imaginary Catplanet light spirit.
P.S. Accel will you not say this is spam thanks. I just had a boring car trip to Foxton. It was BORING. And so I am quite agitated. | | snowman |

Cedric is correct. But I'm having a hard time finding everybodys caves, and nopt everyone finished. Also, the only judge for now besides me, is Quirvy, and he's on vacation. | | Livio |

I thought I said this comp would be number 24. and how long ago did 23 end? I'm not postponing the new comp just b/c the old one was never judged.
or maybe Isa should just declare the winners himself | | Isa |

Problem is, it is a huge mess figuring out who is participating, who has an entry uploaded, who has not, where is it and yaddayadda. | | Livio |

the old topic is still accessible. and you don't need to know if the entry's uploaded if you have its code. | | |
