I just finished making a page that will scan your cave codes and identify the areas in it that trigger the current Uploader Glitch (the opposite-facing arrows glitch). You can start messing around with the page by clicking here.

You just have to paste your code into the textbox. Then the page shows all of your code to you again, but this time it highlights any lines that trigger the glitch. A scrollbar comes up in order to keep it from stretching the page horizontally, but you can take that off by checking the checkmark that says, "Allow Code to Stretch the Page" if you find it frustrating to scroll left and right when the scrollbar is pushed out of the screen (and your mouse doesn't have horizontal scrolling like mine does ).

But the coolest part about this all is that right in the galleries, there's a link next to all of the codes that says, "Scan for Uploader Glitch". This is great especially if you like to play the older caves a lot because now you know for sure if you're going to be playing the whole un-glitched cave or not. I remember last weekend I was playing through a ton of levels and the most annoying part was that it was so impractical to manually check the cave and see if it glitched up or not.

Anyway, enjoy this new feature. Hopefully we'll see more caves getting added to the uploader-fixed series...

I think I may have accidentally duplicated the same way neopets put the blocks on their uploader b/c just like their page, it initially doesn't block "<>". That just shows you how little effort neo puts in their stuff...

That would be very efficient since some people don't test their caves until they complete it, i do that some times.

Really?

Now good. I don't need to spend ten minutes going through my caves to find glitched-up lines.
So yeah.

I wonder why Neo didn't put up something like this. How sad.

lol I don't think neopets would ever make a device that'll help people get around their own glitch. they might as well fix that glitch instead.

UPDATE:
Upon Jebby's seemingly desperate requests, I added a full-gallery search option to the glitch scanner. It scans all of the HATPC levels in your gallery for the glitch, then it returns a list of all the levels that have the glitch. Then you can click on one to load its map and see where the glitches are. You can activate the gallery search by the tiny form at the bottom of the glitch scanner page.

I was still experimenting with the glitch and after 5 years of facing it I think we know almost everything about it, but since we know a lot about it, why not trick it? We have never found a way to trick the uploader for uploading the arrows correctly. However, maybe someome might think I waste my time searching through it, but I guess it would be definitely surprised after seeing an old good cave uploaded.

The glitch isn't made in a comfortable way, but after the years of searching through it we know something. You may or may not remember what I always thought about that glitch and yeah, this is why I just won't let it roll. We have fiddler, yeah, but with our today's activity you know how many people play caves with it. You remember that one try when in 2009 I sent neopets message about the glitch. I got a responce "they are still working on it", and after some analysis we found out it was probably a hacker.

Hmmm... You know. Glitch triggers when one line has <xxx>. Maybe less people know that it doesn't eat the entire line but only the arrows and tiles between them. It leaves everything else on the line so if you would make that line longer than the other ones by the same amount of tiles that the arrows would eat, then the line would still be there but without the arrows. It still doesn't fix anything... But maybe even less people know it's caused by HTML. Since HTML tags work with these signs, e.g. <.img.> </.img.> (without the dots) would put an image here, and the glitch is caused because of the uploader allowing HTML in the cave code. With <xxx> we open a tag, and since HTML removes the tag code here it removes it too. What about this?

On beatacave. Between the < ...................... > there is a gem in the middle. It should disappear, ya? No, check it out. And maybe it was all known before, but I'm sure not everyone was aware of this and I decided to bring up the topic here. And now, since HTML is allowed in the level code, I guess we can do anything with it here. Maybe combining with it some time might bring some new tricks? I hope it's somehow possible to trick the uploader for uploading the arrows correctly. Dunno what you think about it, but I must find it out even if you already decided it's not.
