After a ridiculous amount of judging time, the results are finally here. There were issues with the third judge, Shos, who in the end didn't even submit his results so that we could just end the comp already.

Anyway, there was a tie for 4th place but I gave it to 'hangin'" because Isa thought it deserved second place. And it's too bad that Ckr's and Harumbai's dual level got 6th even thought it would've scored higher. Oh and I didn't even expect to win first place , but don't start accusing me of some conspiracy because I didn't even judge. lol and we extended the comp two weeks longer so that csd could finish his entry, which I still didn't play yet.... but I'll probably try it now and you should too.

So yeah here are the results. I wish I had more stuff to say about the individual levels, but I hadn't had time to play them all yet.

1st: Into the Abyss (FR2) - Livio
10th: Forest Walk (SeppuKuties) - GF4
9th: Gotcha (FR2) - krotomo
8th: Still Waters (HATPC) - FlashMarsh
3rd: The Rise (HATPC) - Quirvy
6th: Crystaline Cloudscape (HATPC) - Ckjr, Harumbai
5th: Retaliation (HATPC) - jazz
7th: Dazed And Confused (HATPC) - Yaya
4th: hangin' (SeppuKuties) - 112lolzz
2nd: A Moment in Time - Level 3 (ZC) - canadianstickdeath

I earned what I got. I think Ck's/Harumbai's cave deserved a little higher, though.

COMING SOON: A giant meteor. Please.

Hey, I won 3rd!

No shame in losing to CSD and Livio. CSD is just too good at everything, and well, Livio... You know how it is...

I dunno why, but it seems like Isa rarely favors my caves for some reason. Not that all of them should be favored, but I still believe The Rise to be a very well made cave.

Yay! It didn't suck! If I got less than third, the terrorists were probably gonna end up holding my dignity hostage again, until the mistake was rectified, and we all don't want another episode of that. Seriously, I worked on this pretty steady for a month! It takes a long time to make this quest things, you know...

Jellsprout isn't gonna tell me, but hopefully Isa will. How far did you get? I like to know; it gives me an idea of what people are getting stuck on, what they get annoyed with, and how long they're willing to sit with it, etc. It's helpful, unlike Jell, who was not. Well, there was that thing he said about there being a lack of hearts, which was semi-helpful I guess. I may fix it if it turns out this dungeon is too hard for this far along in the game. I have a feeling it might be, actually.

in my rating i remember hangin' to be 1st or 2nd, and quirvy was around 3-4 i think.

Quirvy, of all the things there i only remember your cave, and it was very nice but i gave it a lower grade because many of the traps were cheatable

CSD, don't casualise it. Zelda dungeons aren't meant to be beaten in a single sitting.

Did you manage to actually cheat past them, or did you just notice it? Cuz I know 2 specific traps where it looks like you can cheat it by duckjumping, but to advance, you still need to activate the trap. I mean, it's possible that you may have found a way to cheat past some traps during the trap, but those two I'm pretty sure that you can't use to your advantage.

Looking back, Isa's problem with my cave was that one specific trap. But I still believe that it was a completely reasonable trap.

There is no cheating. The only cheating you could do is alter the cavecode to change your starting position or changing the trap itself.
Duck jumping past a trap is called physics abuse. Just because you were too stupid to figure out it was possible doesn't mean we did it wrong.

I can't tell what you're trying to say in that post. Are you saying that it's not possible to cheat past any traps in my cave, or are you saying that you don't consider duckjumping past traps cheating, and that is is possible to duckjump past traps?

In my book, your cheating past a trap if you take any shortcut that was an apparent error on the part of the cave creator. This usually doesn't apply to puzzles, because they have no way of knowing that they're doing it the wrong way.

If it is possible in the original level, but wasn't intended, it is abusing.
If it is physically altering the level directly from the code to make it more easy, it's cheating.

i too don't nderstand jell's posts. but, quirvy, there was this one place where you could really cheat a speed trap - activate an arrow not in time - and get yourself a very comfortable level within the next, perhaps 10 traps. just jumpin and stuff, you know. perhaps activating some arrow to see explosions and stuff. but no traps.

anyways, i believe there were more. that duckjump you're talking about is also something, cuz theplayer can go right, and examine everything and perhaps even try some stuff(i don't remember the place) and only then, when he's ready and he knows what's coming to him, go back to hit the crate. it'll get him a tiny bonus of time, but anyways, that destroys the means of the speed traps - that you have to react, not think-and-do.

Dunno what you're talking about in the first paragraph.

As far as the duckjumping goes, maybe, but that's not really cheating anyways, because you still have to go through the trap. Cheating would imply that you'd flat-out skip the trap.
