Here are the results for the IO!! I'm releasing the results now, but the awards will be distributed after I make this post. And I'll also have to edit the comps archive display tournament results better too.

Oh, and these results also include the points scale by which we four judges (Isa, Jell, Jebby, and me) used to average our results together, so that you can see how close some of the results were.

Large HATPC Levels:
1) Zichaci by Harumbai - 18 points
2) Zero G III by Quirvy - 15 points
3) Hatpc Hardcore by Ckjr - 11 points
4) Triathlon by Shos - 10 points
5) Uprising by Yaya - 5 points
6) Critical Condition by krotomo - 4 points

Zichaci was an awesome and fun level. It had good, simple design, some really cool traps, and I really liked the puzzle on the bottom right of the map. Zero G III was also a very well-designed cave. I really enjoyed playing it and trying to find the right order on how to do everything in the cave. Some people don't like that kind of puzzle, I guess, since you almost feel disoriented when you play the level, but I think it's really fun to experiment to find ways to solve it, especially when you're dealing with the Zero G glitch. As for HATPC Hardcore and Triathlon, they were both really hard levels, but their trap design was pretty crazy, which is why they scored so high. I thought Uprising was cool but its beginning made playing the cave unpleasant for those who don't use checkpoint, and then in the end it had some really evil under water spike sections. And even though Critical Condition scored last, it is not a bad level at all. It's got some nice fun traps in it and stuff.

Small HATPC Levels:
1) CompactV by Harumbai - 18 points
2) Awesome Cave 3000 by dabigkid - 16 points
3) Midnight VIII by Quirvy - 14 points
4) The hidden path by Ckjr - 8 points
5) Crazy Arrows by sinpokman - 4 points

Compact V is pretty amazingly designed. It fits so much backtracking inside so little space, and it's pretty enjoyable if you can survive all the evil spikes. Meanwhile, it was a very tough choice between Awesome Cave 3000 and Midnight VIII. Midnight VIII was well-designed, but Awesome Cave 3000 was more enjoyable to play. I thought Awesome Cave 3000 was a little too easy, but it was really fun to explore the different parts of the level and looking for things you can do to help solve the puzzle.

Best N Levels:
1) The 12 waves by Ckjr - 15 points
2) The Core by Isa - 11 points
3) Notepad Killer by Livio - 10 points
4) Mild by Quirvy - 6 points
5) Jump by krotomo - 3 points

Jebby didn't judge this one because he stinks at N and uninstalled the game from his computer long ago. So anyway, The 12 Waves was crazy awesome. If you haven't seen it yet, you should. The Core was okay, but it had some really annoying use of enemies. And my level Notepad Killer was seen as either too evil or too boring. Quirvy's Mild wasn't too good either. Lol, "Jump" was actually beatable, but it was way too bland.

Best Freestyle Video:
1) Quirvy owning shos' cave by Quirvy - 8 points
2) ?? 4 by krotomo - 4 points

A surprisingly low amount of entries for such an open category... Wasn't too hard of a pick either. In fact this was the first category we judged, simply because it was the easiest one. Quirvy's video was at least funny at the time.

Automatic Levels & Line Rider Videos:
1) Slackin' in Free rider 2 by Ckjr - 15 points
2) Stay Still by canadianstickdeath - 12 points
3) Can't touch this by Isa - 8 points
4) Krotomo's Slackin' by krotomo - 5 points

For the DDA category, Ckjr's Slackin' in Free Rider 2 was really cool and entertaining. Jebby described CSD's Stay Still as one of the best HATPC DDAs so far. Isa's misunderstood N DDA made it so that the enemies wouldn't react to the ninja at all; pretty cool concept.

Speed Levels:
1) My Friend Boulder by dabigkid - 27 points
2) QueenOfSpades by Harumbai - 24 points
3) Florida by Quirvy - 20 points
4) Into the Jetstream by Livio - 13 points
5) Great Greens by krotomo - 13 points
6) Rocky Road by Bmwsu - 9 points
7) Speed by sinpokman - 6 points

This category was crazy. My Friend Boulder was a really awesome speed cave. It had plenty of wasted space, but that was all part of the atmosphere of the level, and the overall concept was really cool too. Overall it was tons of fun. Meanwhile, QueenOfSpades was my ultimate favorite entry in the entire Interguild Olympics. The main reason why it's second place here is that while it has many speed traps in it, it's not really a pure Speed cave. In Quirvy's cave, you play as Florida (egruntz) who is on the run from the law, lol. This was a really simple speed cave, but it's very fun and not too hard too, which is a good thing.

After that, my own Into the Jetstream was a really fun Free Rider 2 level, where you jump off "into the jetstream" and try to come out the other site alive. The cool thing about the level is its randomness, how you can try going in from different directions for different paths and with different vehicles too. But it was rushed so that I could enter it in time for the IO, and it doesn't reach it's full potential, and jell also really didn't seem to like it at all, either Or at least, he doesn't think it was a true speed level. The next cave, Great Greens was also a pretty cool level. It had some flaws in it, but it wasn't a bad cave. Next, Bmwsu's Rocky Road, I didn't like it much, but Quirvy and some others though it interesting. Speed, by sinpokman, actually had quite a lot of problems with it.

Best Walkthrough Video:
1) Snowflake of Doom WT by Dando - 18 points
2) Realm of Dying Brain by canadianstickdeath - 17 points
3) 1984 Walkthrough by jebby - 11 points
4) Endless Evergreens by krotomo - 10 points
5) Umbra Walkthrough by Quirvy - 4 points

The tough choice was between Snowflake of Doom and Realm of Dying Brain. Both were very epic, but most of us ultimately went with Snowflake, except for jell, who found it pretty boring to watch.

Puzzle-Themed Levels:
1) You Want The Candy by dabigkid - 23 points
2) 1984 by jebby - 21 points
3) Midnight IX by Quirvy - 15 points
4) Legerity by Harumbai - 13 points
5) Puzzle by sinpokman - 8 points
6) The hidden path by Ckjr - 4 points

You Want the Candy was a really ground-breaking puzzle in that it brought back many old-school styles, such as using large spaces and a puzzle over large areas. Jebby was inspired by this, and he made 1984, which I thought was the better of the two, but the other judges disagreed... Midnight IX (MIX) was evil with its water area, but it still had some great overall design. Legerity was a super evil, super large, super compact puzzle by Harumbai, and it's just crazy, and not really in a good way.

Best Free Rider 2 Level:
1) Into the Jetstream by Livio - 12 points
2) Simple Start by krotomo - 9 points
3) Topsy Turvy by Bmwsu - 6 points

Not many entries here. Lots of people liked Into the Jetstream (except Jell ), Simple Start is overly simplistic, and we thought Topsy Turvy was either impossible or very evil.

And now, some Other Awards:

Most Enjoyable Level: You Want The Candy by dabigkid

Like I said, this level was really ground-breaking, but it was also a really satisfying puzzle to beat, maybe because this level isn't as hard as people tend to make their levels these days. I personally voted for My Friend Boulder as the Most Enjoyable level of the IO, but there was a tie in the judges' opinions, and we ended up going with the highest-rated level, which was this.

Most Creative Level: Zero G III by Quirvy

The other judges didn't seem to find much creativity in many of the entries, but they thought that Zero G III had a real sense of uniqueness to it. It may not be ground-breaking compared to other levels in its series, but the way you play the level is certainly original from other caves.

Best Design: The 12 waves by Ckjr

This may be only a DDA, but it's design is just ridiculous. I think it speaks for itself.

Overall Best Level: QueenOfSpades by Harumbai

Harumbai's QueenOfSpades is amazing. It's got great puzzles and great backtracking. Some people think this cave is too hard (or rather, that it's too huge, which makes it too hard), but if you use manual checkpoints, like I did, then you could see the entire cave and how crazy awesome it is.

So yeah, that's all of the results. The trophies haven't been distributed yet, and the competitions archive still has to be updated, but in the meantime, you guys get to at least enjoy the results.

Typos:
- Speed levels and puzzle-themed levels results' have a weird line-break in them.
- I found a "to" that is supposed to be a "too".
- Remove "and stuff" from the large level recap.

Did that tie for Most Enjoyable Level really need to be broken? Both caves were made by the same person, lol. It would have been cool, I think, to have them tie with each other.

Lol, so it's good that the results are finally out. Now we can, stop asking when the results are going to be released? I mentioned this earlier, but I peeked at some of the results a while back, so I've known for a while now much many points I lost to Snowflake. I'm not sure if it's better or worse that I lost to my own cave...

Congratulations everyone!

And CSD, I'd say losing by a single point to your own cave is as close to victory as you can come without being victorious. Good show, young chap.

Lol, understatement ahoy. When I released it nobody thought it was unusual that the enemies didn't react.

What's a bit ironic though is that QoS didn't win the category it was entered in. I don't think Harumbai minds too much though, two 1st places, one 2nd place and Overall Best Level. DBK got the same results except that he made the Most Enjoyable Level instead.

Yeah I'm pretty happy with the results and I knew that Legerity was going to crash and burn, but I might still try and make a walkthrough sometime....

Sorry for getting some caves and authors mixed up. they were just copy-and-paste errors...

I don't know why, but I thought some people would disagree with the "Other Awards".

Congratulations to all who won awards and thanks to all who entered!

I wouldn't describe YWTC as 'ground-breaking' - it's a way of cavemaking that was unfortunately lost an age ago. It's probably the best way of making caves and it feels refreshing now it's been brought back again. I hope more people follow DBK's logic and style of cavemaking.

I believe that in the judges topic, I described it as ground-breaking because it was old school.

Yeah, I have to agree with Jebby. YWTC is not groundbreaking at all. It's an old style which is considered somewhat unique compared to the current puzzle caves we make. Being old school =/= groundbreaking

I'd like to congratulate you all too, but since I wasn't a judge, that really wouldn't make any sense.

I'm fine with kroto and non-staff members posting about typos in news posts, but come on, CSD. If you spot a typo, edit it. You are a staff member after all.

Unless Livio told us in the staff forum not to edit the news post because editing it will mess it up, but I haven't gotten to the staff forum yet, so I dunno.

since only 2 categories have more than 5 entries, I'm only gonna award for the first three places for each, unlike in regular comps where you can get an award for up to fifth place. And this is also more like the real olympics where you can only get awarded a gold, silver, or bronze.
