This was a great week. There was plenty of activity here and members seem to have become more aware of Karma, leading to an increase in karma ratings.

Last Sunday, jazz started The Cave Testing Topic. Apparently everyone agrees that it's a great idea for a topic, leading it to become the third highest karma-rated topic on the Interguild.

On Monday, Dando and I got the idea of giving everyone a blog on the site. It's a pretty cool idea, which I posted about here. I'm not sure when it could be implemented, however. Right now I'm focusing on getting the new layout completed as fast as possible so that I could focus on Aeon again.

On Tuesday, Quirvy returned after an unusually long period of not being here. It was also on this day that Catta announced the destruction of Cat Planet, a made-up world that was the subject of many annoying "spam" topics that Catta kept posting many months ago. The destruction of this world led to a very positive response from the public. It turns out that she first posted of this in early February, but we only just now really listened.

Following up on this, Quirvy posted a news post saying that I apparently hosted a funeral for this. It was in this topic that we first caught a glimpse of influence from Captain Obvious' arch enemy: Captain Wikipedia!

It turns out that members became more karma-conscious on Wednesday during a conversation in the Random Chat topic. You can read up on what happened if you missed it, and also notice the huge banner Quirvy placed on the top of the topic. By the time the whole thing was over, the total karma gains were as follows: Yaya: +4; Harumbai: +10; Livio: -5; Quirvy: -2.

On Thursday, Teo_pl got what seemed to be a personally written response from TNT regarding the uploader glitch. This lead to much speculation on whether the glitch may get fixed, if this may just make things worse, or even if they're seriously trying to fix it.

All throughout this weekend, I've been working a lot on the new layout. The new homepage is just about finished, and here's a link to it:

Right now I'm currently re-writing the news page because the coding for the current one just atrocious. Converting other pages to the new design, shouldn't be a problem, though. However, there's still the level database, which will be getting a substantial improvement.

On Saturday, we realized that users' posts were mysteriously disappearing. As we tried to find out exactly what was causing this (and we found multiple things behind this problem), everyone's posts counts were recalculated several times. You can see the post count differences and how the whole thing played out in the following news post: Interguild Update: Haily at Fault Again. Quirvy, who had just recently posted his 4,500th post, suddenly found himself at exactly 3,999 posts. The following quote is his real 4,000th post:

On Saturday, Harumbai posted a really cool HATPC level called Tower for the Skyscraper Comp. Teo_pl also posted his comp entry: Mount Everest which is so far rated 9.2/10 with 3 ratings. Ckjr posted a level called Side Boundaries which scored three consecutive 10/10 ratings. However, Quirvy and I believe that the cave is overrated.

Today (Sunday), Catta changed her name to Kitti, supposedly because she didn't like the stigma of Cattatron/Cat Planet being attached to it.

Just now, the Skyscraper Comp has ended, with seven entries.

There have also been strange new members appearing out of no where, and some disappearing almost as suddenly as they arrived. Such members include new Orcassaur (who was mysteriously deleted earlier today), IronicSpambot, StupidSpambot, Captain Wikipedia, Captain Canada, and Captain America. The staff has yet to respond to this suspicious behavior.

Also today, the United States Congress passed the Health Care Reform bill. Isa should be very pleased.

New Weekly Uploade and a FAIL ! Orcassaur was deleted but he is still registered here! I don't remember, cause it was almost two years ago, but I think, to be a member of the Interguild you must give the e-mail address in the registration. Can a Mod look on the Orcassaur's address?
