The article award (or badge?) was an idea that has been floating around for a while now, but just I haven't figured out what the name of the award and accompanying image should be. All of the awards until now have some sort of interguild-based reference baked in. Maybe "lol whatjaguys do to my guide topic?" or something, but then what would be the image? Does anybody know of any lines or images from the existing articles that are particularly memorable? Were the any images on the old site, like for the did you know or for the HATPC manual that could work?

That said, who should retroactively get the award? I think krotomo is the only non-staff to ever have a guide approved (and that article is... just OK, IMO) and it'd be weird to put through an award that a bunch of staff members, but few others, get, unless we disallow staff members from getting it, but then, why would we not want to encourage the staff to get that type of award?

If somebody can give me a good title and image for an award that you get if you get an article approved, I'll put it through right away, though.

If I understand it right, Ced, the whole Interbot appearance has to be seen in the topic title. soccerboy likely just threw that in his signature as a joke, as someone previously threw it in their profile information.

Yes, Ihe interbot message is in the page title. As I previously explained, if interbot were hidden on this page, it would replace the "Custom Awards Available" at the top. I'm going to make a rule right now, and I hope the others agree with it, 'cause it makes sense, but the message will never appear in a place where somebody, who is not a member of the staff, could change the page's title. I'm pretty sure that amounts to only forum topics and levels, but I'm not sure if members can edit their own videos or if I'm forgetting anything.

and you almost confused me with all those negatives in that first paragraph, but what he meant was that if there is any page on the site where you as a member could manually put in "Interbot was here" in the page title (via levels or forum topic titles or stuff like that), then odds are that interbot isn't at any of those pages.

The Smash bros pic was a little interesting, lol. I'd personally rather the image be interguild or Haily-related. So I'm with either Haily pic (I think the blue is the one we know the most, though). Lol, but I also thought of using Diddy Kong. Is that pic of Haily's wrist (or was it elbow?) still floating around anywhere? Preferably, the one neezles randomly cropped?

I added the Close Encounter award (feel free to change it around) and added it to the news. I think it's time we moved to an Awards/Badges(?) article...? We can announce new awards in the weekly update, if we must.

This award was suggested by a couple of different people, but in this thread, is was first mentioned by Quirvy, who is ineligible for Ideas awards. Great, now I have to find guyguy's thread... And the Ideas award goes to! *drum roll*

I don't think we want too many of the staff getting these awards. Notice how I didn't give myself the close encounter award, even though I was there.

Btw, we need to make an official page with all the created awards. And then we can link to it on the top bar, just like how we link to Official Censors and Interbot was is here.

I don't think that we should discriminate against the staff though - I don't see the reason. If we get more awards, there's a reason for it, we don't get awards just for being staff members.

That guide award was suggested a while back, and by a few people. I'm not really sure the "ideas" award would go to anybody in this case. But yes, I've been meaning to create guide award for a while now. I'm just waiting on the right text and picture. I always like to use Interguisms for the awards, so I'd like the text and/or picture to be something notable from the Interguild's past, if possible.

and whatever the official custom award page is, I think all the custom awards should link to it, so that people who don't know what the award means can figure it out.

I'd rather it be in a guide, rather than some ancient news post that you'd have to dig up and edit. It makes more sense that way.
