IO 2010 Pentathlon Round 2 - Write a Blog Duration: One Week: Friday, July 9th --- Friday, July 16th Rules: This week, you have to write a blog post! It can be about anything that is somehow linked to the Interguild. For example, you might want to write a guide, or comment on a certain design pattern for levels, or try to persuade more people to see the awesomeness behind a certain game, or reminisce about past Interguild events/times. Be creative. To enter your post into this competition, either mention somewhere in your post that it's for this comp, or post about it in the comments of this news post. Note: It must be a completely new blog post. Even if it was made after the IO started, it will not be accepted if it was made before this round started. IO 2010 - Hurdles (Platformer Games) Duration: Two Weeks: Friday, July 9th --- Friday, July 23rd Rules: Basically, in this round, you can only submit levels for games under the Platformers category, and like the Puzzles round, you get two weeks. Also, unlike past Platformer comps, big games like HATPC and N are allowed. IO 2010 - 100m (Speed Levels) Duration: Three Weeks: Friday, July 9th --- Friday, July 30th Rules: Just like last year's speed category, make a level that involves speed, or fast user input, or something like that. Bleh, you guys should know what a speed level is. IO 2010 - Tennis (Collaborative Levels) Duration: Four Weeks: Friday, July 9th --- Friday, August 6th Rules: CSD told me to call this round "Relay Race", but we already have "Hurdles" and "100m", so do we really need another running sport? And besides, "tennis" is a cool reference to the old CaveMaking Tennis topics. You can enter any kind of level into this category, as long as it was made by at least two different people. But here's another twist: since each team has to have at least one entry in every round, their entry in this round must be a "team collab", with every member of the team contributing to it (unless a member is simply unable to participate). This category is still open to any individual collabs, as well. Other Rounds Running Through this Week: See Week One for more details on the following: IO 2010 - Math Olympiad (Puzzle Games) One week left: Ends on Friday, July 16th IO 2010 - Swimming (HATPC Water Levels) Two weeks left: Ends on Friday, July 23rd IO 2010 - Instant Replay (Video Walkthroughs) Three weeks left: Ends on Friday, July 23rd Rounds Ending Today: (these rounds close today, on Friday the 9th at 11:59pm EST) IO 2010 Pentathlon Round 1 - Try Something New Good luck! I still haven't made my Pentathlon round entry yet... User Comments (12)
