Last week, Quirvy posted this in the Staff forum:

Livio, can I suggest that in the future if you want to propose comp ideas, you should engage in the discussion earlier in the week as opposed to 6 hours before the comps go live?
So I was planning to avoid that scenario this week, but I instead ended up showing up 2 hours before the comps started.

Anyway, there are 2 weeks left in the IO! And for some reason, the comps for this week are centered around the motif of the number 2 (but fortunately not in the way that you're probably thinking of ). There are even only 2 comps starting this week, mostly because they'll be way 2 many comps running at once.

This Week's 2 New Rounds:

IO 2012 - 20x20 Caves
Duration: One Week: Sunday, July 15th --- Sunday, July 22nd
Rules: For this week's one-week comp, we want you to make a 20x20 cave in HATPC. This is practically the opposite of the Wide Open Caving comp, since there's not much room for exploration, and the player will be able to see most of your level right away.

IO 2012 - 2 Weeks of II's
Duration: Two Week: Sunday, July 15th --- Tuesday, July 31st
Rules: The rest of the staff was planning on starting a Free Rider 2 comp, but I felt like that would be way too similar to our current Line Rider comp. Plus, I figured it's time we held another multi-game comp, even if multi-game comps are harder to judge. So for this comp, make a sequel to any of your past levels. It must be a first-sequel, meaning you can't make Midnight 10, for example. (PS: this comp is a little over two weeks long, so that the IO can end on the end of the month).

Other Rounds Running Through this Week:
See Week One and Week Two for more details on the following rounds:

IO 2012 - Wide Open Caving
One week left: Ends on Sunday, July 22nd

IO 2012 - Build a Statue
One week left: Ends on Sunday, July 22nd

IO 2012 - Be a Ninja
One week left: Ends on Sunday, July 22nd

IO 2012 - Collaborate
Two weeks left: Ends on Sunday, July 29th

IO 2012 - No Ladders, No Platforms
Two weeks left: Ends on Sunday, July 29th

IO 2012 - Olympic City
Two weeks left: Ends on Sunday, July 29th

Rounds Ending Today:
(these rounds close today, on Sunday the 15th at 11:59pm EST)

IO 2012 - Ride Some Lines
5 entries so far.

IO 2012 - Remove Some Reds
6 entries so far.

I am displeased with Livio's "I will come on at the last minute and change one of the comps that no one apart from me had a problem with, without getting anyone to agree with me" ways.

I didn't like his suggested comp because it's difficult judging entries when they're from different games, which his comp allows for. He didn't like my suggested comp because Free Rider is too similar to Line Rider, and apparently his opinion overrides mine.

Apparently he sort of has an excuse for not ignoring my criticisms and going with his comp anyways, but still. Again with the last minute dissenting opinion?

Actually, no one else posted on the staff forum except Isa, and he's been pretty passive about which comps we should add. And yeah, I was actually planning to add the free rider comp at first, since I came on so late and I wouldn't be able to discuss any alternatives, but then I got caught up with a phone call and I had to rush to get everything out in time, and in my haste I figured that a generic Free Rider comp would've just been way too similar and uninspired. Plus, with so many comps running right now, I felt like we needed a more open comp that could be easily merged with any other comp. Sure it's harder to judge, but it's the comp-merging options that makes the whole IO idea work and we really haven't had much of those this year yet.

But yeah, that looked really bad. Sorry quirvy. I've been working on how to fit more Interguild time into my schedule so hopefully I won't have to come on at the last minute next week.

btw, the title of this page is Week 3, while the other IO 2012 posts have been Week One and Week Two.
Minor detail but just though I'd point it out.

Despite being the site owner, you do not have the mandate to come on at the last minute and change what was agreed upon just because you find it uninspiring. You don't like the presented idea? Too bad, suck it up.

This is poor form.

I'd say that since the comp is lasting 2 weeks and 1 day, you've already had a 1 day extension. But that's just my perspective, so I'll leave it up to the other staff to decide.

I've just got a half finished level which is much better than Why me?

EDIT: I don't even need a full day, just till 12:00 pm UK time. (7:00 am in interguild time)

I just don't want to have wasted my time... D:
