IO 2009: Automatic Levels

Description:
My entry into the DDA section of the Interguild Olypics '09. I noticed that the comp didn't have many entries, and I remember that I still had a half-finished DDA on my computer.

The traps in this level are mostly uninteresting, in my opinion, but there are definitely a couple worth seeing. Mainly, the one where you go just between the sets of arrows coming from both sides and from above, just as a water crate is broken, making the whole craziness go by in slow-motion! Other than that though, it's not much to look at.

Along with the traps being uninteresting, the cave also has its share of problems. There is a trap later on that SOMETIMES kills you, and a trap right after that doesn't always set off correctly, since the arrows are right next to the edge of the cave. Finally, the air pockets and the taps work together to cause a shockwave error right at the end of the cave. If you jump quickly, MAYBE you could finish the cave, but I've never tried it to make sure, lol.

Amazing!
Shockwave error...

But aside from that, it was great.

Really epic how you got it to slow down right as you dodge the arrows in amazing fashion.

Great

I'm guessing we were actually supposed to jump at the end to avoid the shockwave error?

Anyway, I don't really like these types of caves all that much, but that's not to say they can't be entertaining! And yes, the slow-down plus the arrows was quite cool.

"Really epic how you got it to slow down right as you dodge the arrows in amazing fashion."

In my opinion, that part's the only redeeming factor of an otherwise mediocre DDA.

I was thinking about making it do that, but in the end I decided just have it be impossible, lol. If you'd rather I make so you have to jump at the very end, I can.

Way to go, lol.

Otherwise, it was pretty OK. But you've made loads of better caves... The Shockwave Error in the end bugged me though.

Lol, you checked which lines were affected, right?

Yeah, I know. I don't really like releasing levels when I feel like I could do way better. And do you want me to at least make the cave possible? I could make it possible to, like, jump to the door, right before the error, or something.

Anybody else like how Hannah freaks out right around the top of that ladder?

I just don't get why you included the shockwave error in the first place

Well, it's simple. I got bored of waiting 2 minutes just to see the trap I was working on not work correctly, and then when it caused a shockwave error... That was basically the last straw.

Whatever account to upload it to?

It's currently on eyes_yuks_ohm_hutch, I think, but honestly, no promises it'll be there much longer.

I liked it. I just don't like the shockwave error at the end.
