Maybe you guys should start making topics for settlements and towns and stuff like that, and post screenshots of the towns/settlements/whatever as they progress.
And look at this, an entire settlement being posted as a level! I approve.

I like this whole thing, from those big statues to the village. One thing that strikes me as odd, though, is the placement of trees on top of town buildings. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but don't trees grow on the ground and not on top of random buildings? I suspect that this was done to make the village look more interesting but I'd keep the trees on the ground. If the space is too narrow, either don't put a tree there, or just make it really tall.

Oh, yeah, and there's also the unfinished Sphinx, so there definitely is room for improvement. But even with that and the trees, this all looks very awesome. I liked the gold/blue color scheme.

Thanks for the review! A lot of the problems were caused by Yuggy's procrastination. We would have actually done a palace if he had been bothered to finish the sphinx. The trees are there to make the place seem less boring. Part of the reason is that I wanted to use the VoxelSniper Tree Tool, lol. I think one of the cooler places is actually Undertas. This was almost completely done by Jamwok, and it isn't really shown off very well from the actual pictures I took.

The reason for the similar house levels is that I thought that an Egyptian houses wouldn't really tend to be very big, especially since the middle class didn't actually exist back then.

It looks kinda bland from above, though - everything is the same color and same length. Very little variation makes for a slightly unappealing view. Don't let history get in the way of looks.

You have a point, but everyone was building 10+ houses. We kind of ran out of inspiration towards the end. You can easily see te houses on the top left are of much higher quality, and as you go outwards they get less and less interesting.

I disagree; I think that's how I would expect an egyptian village to look like. Perhaps you should have added 1 or 2 buildings that were twice the height of the others, but overall I agree with what you did with them.

You could have used a few more in the top right corner. But what I'm basically saying is that I disagree with Isa and think that the town looks fine. Besides the trees on rooftops, of course.

I like this thing alot. as quirvy said, this is how I'd expect an egyptian village to look like. I'd like more pictures to see the various stuff from closer; the boats for example, really good! but there seem to be many other buildings which look like I need to look at them more. perhaps you should make a video exploring the whole thing.

what's with the blue part in the middle? a circus? :\

It's a market. And I sent a PM to Yuggy asking whether he'd like to do a server tour, still no reply.

Are there coordinates for this? I'd wanna see it, but I don't think the warp works anymore.

This was on my server, and the entire server crashed when I tried to copy paste things over. Maybe I might ask to try again one day as I still have a single player copy of my world.
