Something appears to be causing people to become unintentionally hidden.

Wasn't even aware I was hiding. This better get sorted out because I never look to see if I'm hidden due to me never being hidden.

You can tell that your hidden if you look in the online members box and notice that your not there.

I thought I was hidden. Then I realized I wasn't logged in...

Now the opposite of that is happening apparently - I'm hiding and sometimes when I refresh the homepage I'm suddenly not-hidden again even though I didn't even click the button to stop. It's happened a few times now.

that's not a bug, it's a feature!!

to get hidden you need to "go" to interguild.org/makehidden.php
to ge unhidden you need to "go" to...wait for it....exactly the same!

So when you become hidden and refresh - you become unhidden.

Solution?
Why refresh?
Just click the "enlarge chatbox" link. It will update both the chatbox AND the recent posts and comments!

yes O_o it works for me. perhaps it depends on the browser.? I'm using a very old version of firefox now, in the university lab(not at work)

I use Chrome and didn't have that effect. I clicked Become Hidden so that the URL didn't change, I didn't manually enter the URL.

Firefox 15.0.1 on Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit and refreshing doesn't change my hidden status after clicking the button.

I found a glitch:

If you are to put in    in a post in the chatbox, it colors every post before it.

Yes, but it's still poor design to not have it automatically close unclosed tags.  It also makes for easier spamming of the chatbox.

Those aren't real tags -- they were made using the censors.

But still, it is a result of poorly closed censors, something that should be fixed.

Feel free to say what the censor should be instead so that it doesn't annoy people...

You can just use a } to close any censor tags off easily. (By the way, if you want it to appear in actual text, you use :*rightcurlybrace: minus the asterick.)

Yeah, as simple staff members these is nothing we can do to fix that. We make censors on the assumption that you will use them properly.

But I think that Bmwsu was saying that Livio should implement a way to make it so that after each chatbox post, any unclosed tags (potentially created by censor misuse) are automatically closed. I don't know very much about this stuff, though, so I'm not sure how/if that's possible.

Oh yeah, this is a really old glitch. The page just mysteriously broke one day and I haven't been able to fix it since. I should probably go take another look at it.

another bug. you can't search only levels, [difficulty], and average rating descending.

Unless I tilt my head slightly sideways when I'm reading chatbox posts, the custom names aren't italicized.
