Yup. Pretty minor, mostly just a couple of fixes to 0.4.2 in response to feedback.
Play HATPCR 0.4.3: http://droidfreak36.com/HATPC/0_4_3/
Changelog:
* Changed dialog boxes:
* Dialog boxes will now roll out text at 60 characters per second rather than 45
* Dialog boxes will now avoid being displayed off the edge of the screen when possible
* Dialog boxes will now stay on the screen for longer before they begin to fade out and will not begin to fade out while none of the input keys are pressed
* It's now possible to use the old style tutorial messages in your level by using $msgp() instead of $msg()
* You are no longer considered crouching while ladder climbing, which should make it easier to avoid drowning while on a ladder
* Changed edge climbing
* Edge climbing can now activate while standing in shallow water as well as while swimming
* Edge climbing should be more reliable - you can't get stuck in a loop of constantly trying to climb up an edge
* As a result of the previous two changes, you can now make seamless staircases by putting a local water level ("-") next to each step and blocking it in with air pockets (".")
* Avoided an exporting oversight that may have reduced Chrome performance in recent versions

I'm sometimes getting this strange bug while running Tutorial 1 in 0.4.3. If I recall correctly, this same error occurred when I tried to play certain user-created levels last year. I think the explanation was that the game was lacking elements that they required to function? Though I also got this error message on your site a couple times. Not sure if it's my connection or what.

It could be your internet, or it could be my website's host. IDK

I really like the speed improvement in chrome. It was definitely noticeably laggy in the last version, and now it's really smooth.
I played through most of the main levels. Mechanics seems really solid now and I really like where this is at.
Of course, as always I still have a few minor gripes, which I think might be more personal preference than actual issues, and probably similar to what I've complained about before but:
1. I think Hannah is too sticky to whatever she stands on; like she won't fall down into an empty tile until you go all the 100% over it, and when she jumps into 1 tile wide holes, you have to be more precise than you had to be in HatPC because she'll stick to the edges sometimes. This bugged me in a couple places on level 10:
-After I get the treasure from the first trap, and am just walking back to the 2nd trap, she starts dropping off the end boulder so far that she would almost immediately run into a spike. It wasn't hard to get past or anything like that, but I still I felt like I had to consciously avoid hitting that spike and that bugged me cuz I don't remember it being as tight in normal hatpc
-The platform/metal crate trap was annoying because I was expecting that she'd clear the metal crates but she'd just land on the very edge or wouldn't fall off the crates as soon as I was expecting her to, slowing me down a bit
I think it's fine to a certain extent, but It doesn't make sense that you can jump onto a tile like this:

(arguably it also doesn't make sense that she can even be standing there like that)
I died at the very end of a level because I got to the absolute edge of the terrain but didn't fall down like I was expecting, and by the time I realized I wasn't falling it was too late and I was ded
2. Hannah might be going up too fast or the hitbox might be too sensitive? At the start of level 11, after you break the dynamite near the starting position, I was dying just getting back to that area you have to jump up from a platform; it feels like you have to go further off the platform to make that jump than you should.
But again maybe just personal preference and nothing huge.
Also, the menu scrolls waaaay too slow for me when picking main levels. I'm now aware that you can use the arrow keys to navigate much faster, but still...

That's because I messed up in my exporting workflow on last version and possibly some of the ones before it too. Sorry about that. :/

Collision with edges is as rigid as it is because it needs to be in order to make some jumps with HATPC physics, like the 3 up + 3 over jump.
Although now that I think about it, there might be another way to do that. If I implement a sort of climbing up onto edges mechanic (sort of like how Hannah climbs up onto platforms or climbs up out of the water in Reborn) then I could make edges a bit more squishy in both directions. I might give that a try and see how it feels.

Yeah, that's again because HATPCR's basic physics is a little bit different from HATPC. Specifically, gravity is a little bit stronger in proportion to horizontal movement. I'd rather not tweak either though, since they're both integers (in the case of gravity, precisely 1 pixel per tick squared. I might look into making collisions with spikes from below more forgiving, especially if I make edges squishier like I mentioned earlier.

Yeah, that's a known issue I'll address in the next version for sure.

sir, would you please be so kind as to make it possible for hannah to jump in mid-air. at least as a special option, like deadly water. i have an Idea.
also, please consider including these graphics in the next release, as i require them to make caves of a certain aesthetic.

The background ought to be 440 pixels tall. I might try truncating the top part and see how it looks. And the terrain texture ought to be 42 pixels square instead of 40.

Neither the background nor the 42x42 terrain sprite really wrap properly.
The background looks like this at the wrap point:
and the terrain sprite has a red horizontal line in it like this:

I might be able to extend the 40x40 terrain texture into a usable one if I find the right rows and columns to duplicate.

Cool, that looks better. I didn't know that the background had to wrap, lol, I never examined it that closely. Does this work?
