So these are given out manually? Or is it eventually going to be implemented so that you get the award as soon as you accomplish whatever it is you need to do for the award? This makes me wonder if maybe we should have a separate "achievements" system, where instead of you getting a big award, you just have another achievement that shows up in a long list of such accomplishments. Otherwise some of your suggestions would be redundant, like how you'd get a trophy for getting a first place trophy. Btw, someone mentioned that for some reason the Custom Awards were coming up in the area for Best of 2009 Awards, but if you look closely, that area is labeled "Other Awards" | |

This is an excellent idea; little extras such as this are what keeps communities alive. Seeing what you have listed, however, all of your ideas consist of self contributions, self progress, self stupidity (referencing to the 24-hour-waste-of-life award). I'd suggest adding awards for doing something helpful for others, in order to promote general kindness and encouragement to the members throughout the community. HELPFUL Helped an Interguild member with a certain problem. Other things such as huge site contributions should definitely be awarded, too: GUIDING LIGHT Wrote a helping guide to the website or a specific game that was used by the Interguild. Awesome idea, though. I'll be hunting for these on my w--spare time. By the way, these should be called badges instead of awards. Just sayin'. | |
