So... I was searching for potential featured content material and thought I remembered the name of an old member who won the COTW. Typed it into HATPC and turns out it was a username (why do I only remember stuff like this?). But then I searched the site and couldn't find anything under their name. So I head over to the old site, do some digging, and found Snarwin/Google246's gallery.

Link

It contains five levels not uploaded here. Did you guys just not remember him/her when you were uploading unregistered people? Despite not being able to use HATPCs map generator, they all seem like legitimate levels as far as I can tell. AND ONE OF THEM WON THE COTW!

Secret Tunnel
Sticks 'n' Stones
Gridlock (COTW)
Platformer
Sunken Fortress

After some minor troubles figuring out how to upload them without triggering any safeguards (I had to upload them in with the automatic date and then add in the actual one).

So yeah, if you ever wanted to play his levels, now you can. I think it's kinda cool that I just found them lying on the old site. In the past I've tracked unregistered members back to the old site, saw they had a level title in the signature not uploaded here, and was never able to find it. This time I found it! Hooray!

Update: Yimmy directed me towards another left behind gallery on the old site belonging to a member named Equinox. Five more levels have been added as a result, I the descriptions are taken from the member's posts in the topic. Unlike Google246/Snarwin, I have not heard of this person at all, so if anyone can remember anything about them just for the sake of posterity, that'd be cool. You may ask if uploading levels by people who aren't even on the new site is worth it. To me it's a matter of preservation and prevention (think of lost film). And they're a cool window into what levels were like at the time they were made, in this case they are from 2006 as opposed to 2007. Feel old yet?

Thanks again to Yimmy. Feel free to bring any further left behind levels to the staff's attention if you happen to be rummaging through the old site.

2nd Update: Yimmy directed me to 5 levels of Fungus's not uploaded to the site. Even in his gallery, he admits that they aren't very good, but I guess it's better to upload everything than to make exceptions. Thanks again.

Nice find! I'm sure there's still other hidden treasures on the old site to be found.

His COTW was the first one I ever played. I think it was called The Cube? It was awesome either way.

For those who don't know, google is a veteran of the old guild. I like Snarwin though; where did you get the name from?

EDIT: Oh, and Isa his COTW was called Gridlock

I only remembered while uploading this second batch that all of them have an extra column of blank spaces on the end, so keep that in mind if you try to upload any from Snarwin's bundle. I removed all but one from Equinox's levels because the last one was really tall and didn't feel motivated. But I think in most situations as long as the spaces after the title, terrain, background, and are removed, an extra column will not have an effect. I'll try and get to the others tomorrow.

I briefly tried all of Equinox's levels, and they are a little rough around the edges. He claimed to have a "disorientation" style which definitely fits the bill. Unfortunately, that means I can't tell for the most part if his levels are puzzle caves, nonlinear, or just badly made. Especially with no map generator or preview maps.

I definitely remember Snarwin, but primarily as google. I think from way back on the neoboards, less so the guild, but I'm not sure because it's been so long. I just remember him and chatting with him.

And also that he was briefly on the IG
