I just added a new feature to the forums called "header posts". This is a new option for forum topics that lets you create a post that appears at the top of the topic on every page.

This type of post is separate from the original post of a topic. This feature should be especially useful when organizing some of the big topics, such as the Aeon discussion topics, the bug reports, csd's CaveMaker and Cavebots, and especially some of the discussions in the Staff Forum.

UPDATE: You can now type in ::SPLIT:: anywhere in your header post to split your post into columns. This is useful when you creating several lists in one header post. Theoretically, you can have as many ::SPLITS:: as you want, and it'll just keep splitting your post into more columns.

UPDATE 2: In header posts, type in ::CUT:: to create a new table row. This is helpful when you want two columns of information to line up with each other. The new row is also independent of all of the columns established in the previous row, which can be helpful if you want only a certain section of the post to have columns.

After doing some tests on the staff forum, I have came to this conclusion:

Spoiler:

This new feature doesn't appear to work at all. The only question now is who's fault is it?

While we're at it, it also appears as thought polls in news posts do not work properly.

Yeah that's something Livio did. Livio DID make the poll system after all.

I voted. Now it's Haily's fault, for sure, and there's nothing anybody can do about it.

How can you vote if it doesn't even work? I'm gonna vote No when it works. Proof Livio made the poll system here: http://www.icecaves.net/index.php?id=1242784822

Lol, polls work elsewhere, so all I had to do was make my own copy of this page, and direct the submit button towards it, rather than some version of topic.php. Making this work could likely be as simple as making the target of the submit button = "".

And while we're at it, for us staff members, the "Edit" button on this page leads us to, just like the poll, a non-existing page.

Yeah, it didn't show up. Also, you still cannot vote in this poll, even though we already know what choice would win

yeah, I don't feel like making it work, since we don't really need it to work, but I'll go add it to the to-do list...

Now the poll, instead of adding a vote, it leads me to the same page but with NO VOTE added, as if I didn't add it at all.

Nice header Livio.

Is that so? My guess is he changed the target to the full path to topic.php, instead of the "", as I had previously prescribed.

yeah I did, but that was before you said that, and when it didn't work, that's what I knew I had to do. I just didn't feel like fixing it all the way through..... lol

edit: fixed.
