This week wasn't as crazy as last week.
On Tuesday, we started the Collaborative Caves competition, where you have to team up with either one or two people and make a level together. The comp will last for three weeks, and as of now, the current teams seem to be: Livio & Shos, Teo & Ken, Harumbai & Isa, Harumbai & Yaya, Soccerboy & Jazz, Ckjr & Evan. I may be wrong, because it's kind of hard to follow that conversation.
On Wednesday, I was finally able to fix a major glitch in Aeon. That glitch was getting in the way of progress for months, and I finally fixed it! Since I fixed the glitch, I've been working on Aeon for quite a bit. I've already begun to add other tiles, such as spikes.
Now that I'm starting my spring break, Quirvy is trying to get me to work on Aeon more so that hopefully I can use this opportunity to get another demo out. However, so far, I have not worked on Aeon as much as I said I would. Instead, I found myself working on the new layout more often. There has been incredible progress in the new layout lately. The new news page is completed, and so is the new member list and user profiles. Both pages feature more browsing and ordering options than their predecessors.
Anyway, I'll definitely be working more on Aeon now that I feel guilty for not keeping my promises that I would work on it. It would also be a pretty good idea to release a demo soon, especially now that I've done some major work on the collision detection system and I could use some help looking for any more glitches in it.
On Friday, we accepted two new games: EON and Splitter 2. So far, goldfun has posted two Splitter 2 levels.
On Saturday, a new member joined called midnight, and unlike the new members of past weeks, this one seems to be a real person. User Comments (14) | Kenneth |

Orcassaur
Where did Stupid spambot come from? And why did orcassaur return? I thought we deleted that account!!
Let's not forget that Captain America was, I believe, the original "Stupid Spambot" before we commandeered it temporarily, so Orca had made the last 5 new members up until midnight?(don't forget about the original orcassaur)
I declare that we delete the accounts, maybe excluding Ironic Spambot.

I mentioned those in the last weekly update, but maybe I wasn't very clear when I said it. Anyway, I'll delete those accounts now. | | Kenneth |

yeah, that's a very early work-in-progress build. The game is no where near being done. | | Flame |

Has the new layout got a new color scheme to it? i mean, youve used these same colors for years and i was just thinking maybe its time for some sort of creative change to it. that could include colors. i dunno, just a thought. | | Kenneth |

Actually the original version of this site had a blue and white color scheme, mainly because it's hard to make good designs with dark colors. Most people didn't like it; I think dando once said that it was "obnoxiously white", so last summer I made the layout that's up right now.
Then when I started working on the new design, once again, I tried the blue and white approach, but this actually looked good, and I didn't use real white. But not all members liked it, and then I found inspiration, threw that out, and now you see the design that's up on http://www.interguild.org/testing So it's like i did a loop back to the classic design. | | Flame |

Oh i see, the new layout is much better. i think the change to using more orange was good; cos its still simple but not too dark like the blue u hav for the sidebars and that on this layout. in other other words the orange is a bright colour, attracting the eyes to it, while at the same time with the grey background keeping it relatively neutral (im an art student lol) | | Livio |

I've been taking the graphic design elective classes for three years now, and I definitely haven't learned anything concrete (but that doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't taught to us. ) If anything, all I learned was the skill of identifying what bothers you about a design, and it's a good thing I have the patience to figure out how to fix it.
I initially didn't like the bright yellow, but I found that if I used more of it, then it wouldn't feel so out of place. Like if you go to a news post, you'll see that it's mostly dark gray, and I'm not sure if that's a bad thing I should fix.. | | |
