This year, we plan to add some new twists to the IO. One of these ideas is the concept of teams. In the real Olympics, athletes try to win medals for their countries, so in the IO, you will try to win medals for your teams, too. You will still get trophies for you individual victories, but each of those victories gives your team points, and whoever has the most points at the end of the IO will win. Also not that you do not have to be in a team to participate in the IO. As of now we have three teams, each with their own generic name: Team 1, Team 2, and Team 3. After joining a team, you will gain access to a secret forum board available only to your teammates. In that board, you will then proceed with the next task of coming up with a name for your team. You may even vote on who gets to be team captain/co-captain (if we even need team captains). The boards will stay up throughout the IO so that you can help each other with levels, share ideas, coordinate collaborative entries, etc. To keep things competitive and balanced, you will not be able to choose which team you will be on. Instead, everyone will have to sign up to be placed in a team. I'm not sure when we'll announce the lists of who's on which team, but we'll try to be flexible enough that anyone could be added to a team even after we've announce them. Okay, so if you want to sign up for teams, please post it in this topic. Also if you're not sure you'll be participating in the IO, sign up anyway. User Comments (27)
