In regards to the level galleries, a lot of people have been mistaking series with categories. A series is meant to organize collections of sequels together, but categories are for grouping similar levels together. Some people have been using series in order to make different categories of all their levels, and that's wrong.
These are series such as "Catta's Caves" by catta, "My Early Caves" by evansun, and "IMO Noteworthy caves I've made" by Isa.
All of this has made me realize what an idiot I was to not even think about adding a categories feature.
But such a feature would have to be divided into two systems: "categories" and "genres". Categories would by all the "bad series" that I mentioned above, and genres would be things like "Steel", "Water", "Puzzle", etc. This could be a very cool thing to have in the galleries.
The only bad thing about this idea is that it's another thing added to my long list of things to do. Speaking of my list of things to do, I think I'll post my "list" right now in order of how I should probably get them done in. It'll help me keep track of myself, and it'll give you guys a look at how much I have to do:
1) Keep up with school
2) Fix any site-threatening glitches (are there any?
)
3) Finish the comps archive so that you can browse through old comps, and so that it actually has the old comps in it.
4) Make the category and genre systems for the galleries
5) Make the search feature for the galleries + comps archives
6) Make the member profiles look cool
7) Make Aeon.
8) Put more effort and design into the layout. (this sounds more like a thing to do during the summer when I'm bored... it's not like it looks terrible, and I'll be probably making minor updates to it throughout time, anyway)
I think that covers most of the immediate issues. And if you don't agree with the order that I plan to achieve these things, remember that I'm also considering the size of the project. the categories and genres can take a while to do, so I'm not gonna kill myself trying to get them out as soon as possible.
PS: wow! 568 levels!
