After working on it almost nonstop for days, I've finally released the Interguild level galleries!

Right now it looks pretty empty, but once you start filling it with levels, it'll look way better. If you want to bring over your old caves, you can go here:
http://interguild.domingo.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=12
and dig out your levels from your old Cave Galleries. I took off the redirects for now.

While adding your levels, I suggest copying the date from the old cave galleries and putting them into the "custom date" field in the new galleries. I also plan to set up a system for us mods to put all of the extra cavecodes for people who haven't joined the new site yet.

Now that the galleries are out, we should focus on filling them up. After I've put in my levels, I'll focus on the Competitions system which is already mostly complete.

UPDATE:

You can now do a user search by clicking on anyone's name in the galleries. Moderators can also insert levels for people who have not joined the site yet. Not only do I want the mods to fill up their individual galleries, but you should also go in and fill in the caves for people who haven't joined yet, like for jdouble, flame, and everyone else.

When you mods manually put in a username for a new level it will mark it as an "unregistered level". Unregistered levels will make the username appear gray when displayed and there is now an entire Unregistered category to browse. I've added a few unregistered levels to show you guys how it works. You guys can sort it out amongst yourselves who does what levels. As for me, I'll be working on the competitions and hopefully the galleries won't have any more bugs to hammer out.

UPDATE 2

I fixed the mysterious glitch that some people were getting that mixed up their codes and sometimes failed to upload them. I explained its cause in the comments, but none of you really care about that. If you have any glitched levels, just delete them and resubmit them.

UPDATE 3

New Shared Series! If you're a moderator, you can create shared series, which basically allow any member to submit levels into them. When you add or edit levels, you'll notice a new category in the drop-down list for series that will show all of the shared series under it. The first and currently only shared series we have is the "Never Ending Story" Series.

sounds like you did click on it since that's the only google-related link on the site. My IE7 has been having trouble making the google ads appear lately, so maybe you're having the same problem too.

new stuff: when you manage your levels, there are now links that will bring you to the main info page that everyone else sees for that level or series. this is very convenient. oh and you can also see how much praise your levels has from there.

Accel, do you think it could be possible to make shared series between users? Like the two NES series of caves. There were many different people who made them, but it would be nice to enter them into one serie.

I thought of that after I released the galleries and planned to do it later.

but how should we make it work? I guess only mods should create shared series series...
in fact, I don't think it'll take too long to do it. Maybe I can do it now...

I never saw that as a problem. I think the real bug is that not as many of us are actually using the Praise system. if you don't think a level deserves to have that much praise, vote for other levels to push it down the ranks.

I'll attempt to bring this down later. I just have a quick question. Can I upload the same level twice? It's not such a problem for me, but it could be for unregistered users. Is there any good way for me to check if the level's already been uploaded? Maybe you could check to see if this cavecode matches one of the others?

yeah, you can upload it twice, so it's up to mods to deal with that when it happens. I can't make it search through the codes b/c that would just be crazy. if we're gonna block double-posting levels, then it'll have to block you from posting caves with the same name under the same account.

and double-posting with the unregistered levels thing would be much easier to avoid if we had the search system up.

Yeah, I was thinking of saying it'd be crazy, but I decided not to. And you'll also have to allow the same name from the same people... something about remakes. It could be hard to tell, though, if somebody else hasn't already uploaded the cave you're uploading. Maybe we should coordinate who's uploading what from the old galleries?

It'd be nice if there was a good way to check for similar level, though.... Anyway...

there's a topic in the mods forum that I've been trying to get you guys to look at, and it's all about coordinating the transfer of caves. maybe you should stop relying on the top-right table for the recent forum topics thing.
