in the American grade system, F is the lowest, but i think EF(aka, epic fail) is worse

And techincally E is the lowest. F is just really popular because it comes after E, and in early elementary school, that was the lowest grade possible. That's back when letters actually stood for things.

Yeah, Accel's post has to be one of the biggest fails in a while.

I got a 50 and got an F-, so F- is worse. That was in 4th grade and a lot struggled on that sheet.

I don't get the letter system anyway. Isn't it much easier to calculate grades and avarages using a 1-10 scale?

the four standard subjects aka english, math, science and mother tongue are graded by bands in sg. Band 1 is 85 to 100 marks, band 2 is 70 to 84, band 3 is 51 to 70 and band 4 is below 50.  

  it's actually a 1-100 scale and the letter system is like breaking the numbers up into categories.
