Anyone else heard of 2003 game Impossible Creatures? My friend bought the game long ago and we played it for half a year, then moved back to trusty Warcraft III. Anyway, the game is pretty cool - you have a set of creatures, ranging from a praying mantis to elephant, which you can combine body parts of to create some funky-looking creatures. The game is a strategy game, so each of your changes to the animals alter their stats and abilities.

The biggest community related to IC (well, the one Wikipedia links me to, at least) is quite interesting - they freely link to torrents and host their own "no cd"-versions of the game, with the reasoning that the game is incredibly hard to find offline and it doesn't seem like the creators care much about the game, so therefore they shouldn't care too much if you download their game.
There's a bunch of mods that increase the number of creatures in-game with ~50% or more as well.
So yeah, the game is pretty cool. | | Livio |

Whoa, Isa I'm pretty sure waaaay back in the day (2003-2004), my friend got that for his birthday, I went over to his house and we spent a couple hours trying to play that and we couldn't figure anything out, lol. I remembered the cover instantly.

It's from 2003, and older games are nice. Of course, 2003 isn't really "old", but when it comes to gaming you rarely see anyone nowadays playing games older than 5 years old unless they were/are a huge hit (CounterStrike, Warcraft III, DotA for example). | | jellsprout |

Two of my three most played PC games are Worms Armageddon and Heroes of Might and Magic III, both from the previous century. Unfortunately most old PC games from the Windows 98 days don't work on Windows 7 or Vista anymore, otherwise I would be playing a lot more. But you already know that of me.

Compability mode, Jell?
Worms Armageddon is one great game. A friend of mine had the demo, we played a lot on two simple stages and had loads of fun.
I've already mentioned that Heroes III is one of the few games I still play. | | Livio |

Compatibility mode never works. The only reason I got those two games to work without glitches were unofficial patches.

No, I like C&H, don't worry. Several books inhabit my shelves. I'm just saying I could easily- ahh **** it! This isn't worth explaining. Avatar suits you. I'm not a hater. The end.
