For the second time today, I'll be typing up a weekly update, and hopefully this time I won't tragically lose it.

Livio has finally returned from his vacation, and now he can get back to work on that to do list that we made for him while he was inactive earlier this year.

A new Minecraft competition started over the last week, with there being tons of controversy surrounding it. And by that I mean there was some debate over whether or not Flash could submit his entry, which isn't on the Interguild server.

Speaking of which, I think that Flash opened his super secret server to the public, and Jorster also created his own server too, because that's apparently what the kids are into these days. Me on the other hand, I'll just continue to be one without minecraft, and hope that Livio will someday complete the City of Lakes project that I designed.

The Adventures of Gregory has again been resumed in the Random Poll topic. I also have a blog draft containing the entire storyline from start to where we are now, but am unsure if I should publish it now, or wait until we reach a good stopping point or something. It's really long, by the way.

In member news, Jorster demands recognition for his return. So we (I) here at the weekly update would like to recognize his return to the Interguild. Snowman also posted that he had returned this week. Cedric appears to be missing, and Chezerony, despite not being all that active, has informed us that he will be away over the next week. Also remember to not capitalize all of the letter's in Bmwsu's name.

Darvince was chatbox banned for spamming the chatbox, so like everyone else who has ever been chatbox banned, he created his own ramblings thread, titled "An Unlocked Topic". I've apparently posted there -15 times.

The spoiler in the one post topic was recently updated, and then I also compiled list displaying how many times everyone has won a round/half-round

It has been revealed that the Snowflake of Doom Walkthrough by Dando who is still putting off that one post, is probably blocked in all of our countries because of the song used in it.

Livio informs me that there is a 4-way tie for the post of the last 2 weeks (and a 5-way tie for the fail of the last 2 weeks), all users standing at +3 karma(-1 for fails of the weeks). So rather than posting all 4 of them, I'll link you to this question by Jorster, where both of the answers immediately following it received +3 karma.

And then I'll just not bother with the fail of the week, because -1 karma isn't worthy of fail of the week.

Oh, also Livio killed sniper's dog in minecraft.

Lol at shos wondering if he was Canadian. Also, he claims to be 20; you're 19, shos

I'm kind of disappointed we haven't heard back from Dando/Wiley yet. Perhaps he decided that he'd rather wait for things to cool down before responding to our posts. Or he could actually just be busy.

Where did you get the picture that you posted five years ago in a Pictures of You thread? (far shot that you remember this, but...)
What was your username prior to dando52?
Why didn't you tell us this when Wileywoo was uncovered?

The picture was just some woman I found on Google Images. I had no Neopets account before dando52, and if you go to my user page on Neopets, I never changed my gender from Male. And I didn't explain myself when Wiley was uncovered because it still seemed interesting to me. Had I known the Interguild would last so long, I probably would've thought twice about it.

'Quirvy' said:
Did you really come up with that story for why you made wileywoo on the spot?
And what I really wonder about is if Wileywoo was really you trying to get a new start as yourself, then why did you originally type illiterate and pretend to be something like an 11 year old boy from Australia?

Yeah, the Wiley explanation was made up on the spot. I think it shows, lol (like saying I was inspired by Batman). The whole thing with Wiley is kind of weird and over-complicated. I joined as Wiley right after I made Dando leave. I made Wiley type poorly at first because I wanted to avoid drawing any comparisons to Dando, and I think I said I was Australian because I didn't want to say I was Canadian (for the same reason). The plan was to quietly slink in, differentiate myself from Dando in a few subtle ways, and then gradually go back to being myself. I quickly realized I didn't have the patience for that and wound up starting a giant argument with everybody on the site instead, lol.

'Quirvy' said:
Was Dando more of an act than really you? So that would mean that you're going to be more like yourself from now on?

It was entirely an act at the beginning, but it deteriorated over time. The difference in tone between some of my posts can seem pretty jarring when I look over them. I feel like I mostly just post as myself now, but it's hard to describe what's an act and what isn't because it's sort of melded together to me. Stuff like silly nicknames or remarks about Ikea's great cinnamon buns were Flora/Dando.

I'll post a real picture later. (bed time for me)

So a few random things popped into my head.

I remember you telling us once about how you had a flash drive with all your caves in it, and you accidentally put it in the laundry, and when you realized what you had done you blurted aloud something like "No! My caves!" Was that just a story that you made up or did that really happen?

And additionally, it seemed like every time you were inactive, it was because of some wedding. Did you just say that because you figured that was something someone in their mid-20s would be involved with, and you were actually just going on normal vacations?

Some general thoughts on this:
I thought it was kind of funny that one of the first things Isa thought following the revelation was "does quirvy have anything to do with this?" I've built myself quite a reputation for these things, I suppose.

Now that you're no longer in your mid-20s, I guess that CSD is going to have to fill the role of the mid-20's person...

You said that you like writing, and you did write a bit; there was your story surrounding that one competition's results, Farmer Dandonovitch, and the mafia game you hosted. Were those stories written in your pure writing style, or did you write them as you would think that Dando would write them?

And one thing that I've always wondered but never asked you was, did it make you a bit uncomfortable how much you were idolized? I mean, Dando was hands down the coolest member here, but nonetheless I felt like you might have found it a bit uncomfortable. I kind of began to feel like it was weird how every time you would come online, someone would go "Hi Dando!", and you were the only person that really got that treatment (although Livio gets the "Wow, Livio's online!" treatment), and that you might have also thought it was a bit weird and not liked it.

Also just a general thought that isn't aimed at Dando/Wiley; I don't think that his post should be karma rated at all; He obviously shouldn't be +1'd since you don't want to reward people for pulling a stunt like that, and at the same time I think that it's wrong to give out negative karma to him for coming clean rather than keeping the secret to himself. He did mislead us, but it wasn't with malicious intent or anything. Plus I feel like seeing a Dando post with negative karma will let people know that something is afoot, and while the reveal will still be a total surprise to anyone reading it just for the first time, I feel like seeing the negative karma will prepare them for it a little bit, and it won't be as out of nowhere. And the feeling of reading that without expecting anything like that was awesome(although perhaps that's just because I love big twists like that). And Livio hasn't read it yet. So I personally encourage you to nullify negative karma on that post.

I have to agree with Quirvy and Silver on this one. I find it hard to care all that much about Dando's true identity. If I was surprised by anything, it was how unsurprised I was. These kinds of revelations seem to happen pretty often on here, so I guess I never really get too attached with my image of what someone is like in real life. Just because someone was pretending to be someone else doesn't mean that the good times we had together were fake, so I don't see much reason to get worked up about it.

I was chatting with Thomas on gmail, and like shos, he asked me for my reaction live. At one point, the conversation went like this:
'Livio' said:
maybe I just don't care about who people are in real life. I just care if we can hang out with them on the interguild
'Thomas' said:
so you would hang out with osama bin laden on IG?

Also, +1 on Dando's avatar change, lol.

lol I just realize that I misread Silver's post as "I feel like I'm not the only one blown away by this stunning revelation." I'll have to edit my post following that...

Unlike you, I was very surprised by the revelation, but like you say, it isn't something that I deeply care about. We might see a personality change with Dando/Wiley, but ultimately it's the same intelligent, mature person.

Sorry, I haven't had much free time these past few days.

Nope, that definitely happened. It was a floppy disc though.

And I actually did go to a wedding last week, but for the other times, yeah, that's pretty much it. That time I stayed in BC for five months, I was actually just working a summer job at a painting company.

Nah, I didn't really consider Dando at all when I wrote anything like that. Likewise, all of the "serious" posts (like discussing stuff about the site, or critiquing levels) were mostly just myself as well.

I always saw the "Hi Dando!" as being more like a joke or Interguild-meme type of thing. I don't really mind it, lol.

Anyway, here's my real picture:

I vaguely remember that one wedding that somehow spread itself out into a 5 month event or something. I honestly never noticed a difference in tone between you in the staff discussion and you outside of it. Just that you were more serious and goal-oriented in the staff discussion topic, I guess.

Well, I think I've just about run out of questions that interested me. Although one more popped into mind: what was the deal with that two minutes to midnight topic you made way back when? If you even remember it.

And of course, what should we call you? Right now it seems sort of awkward calling you Dando since you've kind of come out to reveal yourself as a different person from the Dando that we know, and perhaps you think it's weird, too, since you are used to being called by that name in a sort of indirect way. Should we continue to call you Dando, or are you going to change your username to something new/go back to Wiley?

Hopefully this means we'll get to see you post a little more. You may not be the same Dando, personality-wise, but regardless you're still probably the best user on this site when it comes to the quality of your posts.

I don't remember that topic, but that's a song I used to like.

And yeah, I'll change my name. I'm thinking either Wiley or Sefro, which is my name on Steam and a few other things.

Yeah, I made a few levels in LittleBigPlanet for PS3. I also tried making a Portal 2 level a while ago (inspired by HatPC, actually).

If Sefro is your main online name, then maybe that would be the best pick, although I kinda like the historical irony of using Wiley.

From what I recall, you made basically made a topic in the random chat section, titled "TWO MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT" and the post was some of the lyrics in all caps or something like that. IIRC, Jebby's take on it was that you were drunk. It was a great "lol wtf?" topic.

Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

I view everyone on the internet as androgynous sock puppets. So, that combined with my newness to the interguild makes me indifferent.

To be more eloquent (because we all know I need to be), impersonal electronic communication allows me to view people less as physical realities and more as semantic systems. For us, it can be seen that the reality of gender has little effect on the preexisting personality profile we associate with "Dando", although many of the more veteran members will feel a measure of alienation regardless of what they say. In the end, I'm largely indifferent and predict that most members will move towards acceptance.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still gonna give you crap until the end of time
I'm sure it'll evolve to be just another running joke of the interguild.
