Welcome people! If you're reading this you've either volunteered as a judge and have been deemed worthy of the position or you are Livio. Congratulations.

When each round ends, a new topic will be created to judge that round. You are expected to rank all entries for that round from best to worst and if possible give some explanations for your ranking. If there is a tie in the final rankings, we will bring in a reserve judge to break this tie.
If you are for some reason unable to judge a certain round, say so quickly and we can respond appropriately.

Judges:
-jellsprout
-Harumbai
-jazz

Reserve:
-Isa

Team 1 has settled on their name...shos chose it. It's better than last year at least.

I agree. Last year's names were pretty bad.

Also, with Quirvy not having access here, who will do the final results? How are the points even calculated?

Not a clue. 3p to winner, 2p to 2nd place, 1p to 3rd place I suppose.

Just when it seems Team 2 is getting close to a team name, they start suggesting new names again.

They're lagging behind already. Team Crouching Father, Hidden Pony is miles ahead of the others.

We had this crazy complicated points system that attempted to reward people point by how they ranked in the comp and how many people had joined the comp. So if they were 3rd and second-to-last place, they would get less points than if they were 3rd and 5th-to-last place.

I like this scoring system because it encourages people to enter more comps even if they might not be in the top three. But one problem with this system was that points for collabs were divided equally among each author, which meant that collabs were pretty much a waste of time outside of the collab comp. I think there was even one collab one year that crossed the team boundaries so it didn't even help their respective teams that much.

No point in giving collabs special bonuses when it's not really called for.

I think it would be best for the IO judges to get to work as fast as possible. The 30 seconds comp has ended, so judging for that comp should begin now that way nothing bad happens, like you guys putting off every comp until the last minute, and having to rush judging. Didn't something bad like that happen last year? Get to work, judges!

Hi guys, stopping by to publish results. For the tiebreaker judge, you can either solve this one of 2 ways:

a. Bringing someone in completely neutral (not on ANY teams) to break the tie. Unfortunately we don't have many of those. Livio doesn't seem like a likely candidate given his massive absence. Maybe we can ask Sefro to break the ties?
b. Isolate the two, the one that 2/3 judges think is better wins the tie breaker

Lol at the Line Rider videos. Balance Act and Ride the win. Balance Act was too hard (I had to refer to shos's spoiler), but it was more fun to play with and seemed better-designed than Know Your Enemy.

If you guys want to get him to help judge those comps that Harumbai can't, that's up to you. Maybe I should look into whatever problem harumbai is having.

For the Fiddler problem, I propose this solution. Harumbai ranks all the levels he can play. Then we take the average of Jazz and mine rankings of Soccerboy, insert that into Harumbai's ranking (rounding up if necessary) and move everything higher than that up one place and use that as Harumbai's ranking. If there is a tie involving Soccerboy, we let him lose by default for using Fiddler.

For example the 20x20 round. I have Soccerboy ranked 4, Jazz has him ranked 5. So averaging that gives 4.5 which rounds up to 5. Harumbai gave the following ranking:

1. Yaya
2. Xyteran
3. Quirvy
4. Shos
5. Yuggy

With the above system this becomes:

1. Yaya
2. Xyteran
3. Quirvy
4. Shos
5. Soccerboy
6. Yuggy

And then we use that to determine the final results.

Using this system, we get as results:

Open Caving Round:
1. Quirvy
2. Soccerboy
3. Flashmarsh

20x20 round:
1. Yaya
2. Xyteran
3. Quirvy
4. Shos
5. Soccerboy
6. Yuggy

If we go with this system, Jazz has judged everything, I just need to judge the Collaboration round and Harumbai just needs to judge the II's and No Platforms rounds.

I thought about this too, especially since he's already judged some of the comps. I'm okay with it. Better than our current plan which is nothing.

I'm not going to hang onto this any longer, so I'll just post it somewhere:

1st Place: Gregory's Last Hope, 116 points
2nd Place: , 111 points
3rd Place: Team Ahoy! Womby Sharks!, 86 points
4th Place: Isa, 7 points

I also tallied up the points that me and soccerboy gave our teams (without splitting points for collab entries)
Quirvy: 101
Soccer: 79

I want to do this with everyone who made moderate contributions to their team (as in earned them a decent amount of points), but I'm going to hold off on that until we officially judge all of the comps, because it will make things easier.
