wonders of punctuation. In hebrew there are many sentences that don't change if you change its order, for example: He ate an apple (an apple is one word) an apple ate he an apple he ate he an apple ate ate an apple he ate he an apple are all meaning the same, just with different levels of speech(he ate an apple is regular speach, an apple ate he is like SUPER AWESOME HEBREW highclass...general bullshiz) but there are stuff that make better even: Danny killed mom and Mom killed danny are the same too! then the question arises: then how you separate between them? well, we have an extra word, 'et'. it reaaaally has absolutely no meaning. and it could be totally deleted from the vocabulary and it'll still work with context. there's no such a thing in any other language. I have no idea how to explain that linguistically. | |
