no this isn't the same as the water proof tiles idea (I actually don't remember what that was) but the idea is a class of tiles (like wooden, steel, fragile, etc.). The thing is that when they are destroyed and they are underwater, then an air pocket appears in its place.

it's a really awesome way for movable air pockets. Imagine a water proof wooden crate or waterproof steel crate as part of a trap where you have to protect that tile from being destroyed until it reaches a certain spot so that the air pocket can be created at a specific spot. this would also make underwater traps more intuitive and fool-proof, especially if it's an air-pocket-related trap, like the one I was working on when I got this idea.

but mainly it's going to save space in caves. I think there's a lot of potential for this idea. not sure which tiles will have water-proof counterparts, though.

Approve. Thats a great idea! And if that gives way to more glitches like making water come through terrains, i wouldn't be so sure.

I don't know how that would be like, but if you have a water-proof dynamite, the idea is that when it blows up, there will be an airpocket behind it.

I don't like it. I think it's be better as a single water-proof crate that could then be a member of the other classes including steel and fragile. Indestructible? Maybe, everytime you hit it, an air bubble comes out and floats to the surface? Will bubbles float to the surface after you break their crate? They should, I think. It's more realistic, and there's some possible uses for it.

Maybe hannah had to swim fast enough to catch the water bubble to regain her breath before it disappears?

I agree with CSD. Waterproof crates shouldn't be a class (like Wooden or Steel) but a type (like Arrow or Dynamite). If the crate gets destroyed, an air bubble appears in its place. If it is an indestructable crate, the bubble will appear directly above the crate.

I'd like to re-assert that I'd like the bubbles to float the the surface after the crate is broken. They'll pop when they hit something (including enemies and you) or reach the surface. It is more realistic, plus it has its own potential uses. Also, that way, you wouldn't need to make the indestructible crate behave differently (the bubbles appear above the crate instead of in its place), since the bubbles will be floating out shortly.

that sounds like the air pocket crate, which I think we already accepted. but whatever... so much for this idea.

No, it was "unlikely", lol. Should have been excepted, IMO.

you mean accepted?

and why are there so many popular ideas that have not been accepted, but no one knows why?

Yeah... That's a completely different word, isn't it.
"If you try to use this to create caves without a Starting Position or a Door by putting them in lines that will get skipped by the game, then it will place them at the defualt position, which is (0,0). A Shockwave error occers if the starting point is there, but if the door is there, then it's impossible to enter it."
Occurs and default are spelled wrong, and it doesn't necessarily cause a shockwave error. That's three mistakes... Now I'm winning?

Lemme check why it wasn't approved... People didn't seem to like the idea of a limited air pocket because they hated water enough already. Lemme check the vote: approve, unlikely, unfavourable, unfavourable (those unfavourables were people who weren't enthusiastic about it, but were still on the fence). Cedric said something later that sounded somewhat favourable. Also, at the time, it wasn't a crate and the bubbles didn't float upward. You said, as a sort-of consensus: "yeah, we should test this idea. Let's mark it as that type of idea that will be postponed until it's tested."

I know that, in the past, I've played caves that didn't include a starting position without getting a shockwave error. I'm not 100% sure this is still the case, though, but I highly doubt it would have been changed.

No shockwave error. I can confirm that even if you remove the starting position for some reason, the cave will be loaded as normally and you'll start at (0,0).

That happened when I was testing Waterlogged Cave 2.
