Today begins the Interguild Olympics. It's an enormous tournament that we're holding that spans through all games. The Interguild Olympics (IO) will begin today on Saturday, July 4th (also U.S.'s Independence Day), and all rounds will end four weeks from now on Saturday, August 1st.
We've organized the rounds similarly to the real olympics: there is an array of different events and you are free to participate in whichever ones you choose. It is not mandatory that you join every single round. There are a total of 9 rounds in the Interguild Olympics, but instead of releasing them all at once, we've divided them up to be released gradually. Every Saturday, we'll release new rounds until all nine rounds have been set up. This way you won't feel overwhelmed by the large number of categories, and also to give us an excuse to keep the IO updated throughout the month and to ensure that no one forgets about it. I'm also aware that 4 weeks still may not be enough time for some people, so keep in mind that it is possible that the IO end date may be extended by a week if we ever need the time.
Each round will be judged individually, and then we'll also hand out awards for overall categories, such as "most creative entry" for example. We'll also give an award to the Champion of the IO, which is for whoever wins the most rounds.
The first rounds for the IO are:
We actually decided to break up the HATPC category into two separate groups, because HATPC is definitely the biggest game on the site, and there will probably be more than enough levels made throughout the month.
Large HATPC Levels
-Make the best HATPC level you can, but it must be larger than 60x60 (or more precisely, contains an area larger than 3600 tiles)
Small HATPC Levels
-Make the best HATPC level you can, but it must be smaller than 30x30 (or more precisely, contains an area smaller than 900 tiles)
Best N Levels
-Make the best level you can in the game: N.
Best Freestyle Video
-Basically make a video that isn't a walkthrough (and it must be related to the Interguild too). User Comments (36) | Quirvy |

Cool. Once I finish Zero G III, I might enter it into large hatpc levels, as it's 61x80.
Also, good math, accel. Who do you think you are, TNT? 60x60 would be 3600 tiles, not 1200.

So theorecticly I could make a 25x36 level because it equals 900 tiles. For small caves can the dimensions equal the 900 limit, but have a dimension bigger then 30?
COMING SOON: A giant meteor. Please.

To answer your question Yaya, I believe so. It appears that Accel is using the amount of tiles to base what is a large cave and what is a small cave.

Unfortunately, even though I am a staffmember, I do not see a way to edit the info of a comp that's already running. I'm gonna say, just don't submit anything until Accel fixes it.
To answer that question, I think he was supposed to come back some unspecified time on friday, and well, it's saturday. But he did post on Thursday, but I don't think it was from home.

I point out there was more than one entry...??
Also would it be allowed if I had some extra terrain around a small cave because it has a water tap in it and i dont want it to glitch?

I'm not the official decider, but I'd say that as long as you don't have anything in that area that you added.

I'm going to make a new kind of hatpc video, not really new it is, but nobody has made it before except when i saw a video of this kind about line rider. I'm not really sure if i had time to make it, but i had had it all planned out. | | Ckjr |

I've started both a non-walkthrough HatPC video and a 60x60 cave, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish either of them. | | canadianstickdeath |

Right now, I have a barely-started level 4 for my ZC dungeon that might find it's way into this comp. Also, if I get the chance to upload it, RoDB could be up for Best Walkthrough Video. Other than those, I'm not likely to enter much of anything (and even those aren't so likely). Maybe I'll get random inspiration and make a free-rider level, or something. | | |
