Hm, seems like I added an extra judge from nowhere, but only for the bottom 3.

my current opinion:
compact V
midnight 8
crazy arrows

but I haven't played these enough yet:
Awesome Cave 3000
the hidden path

so I'll post this here in hopes of reminding myself later when I have more time

my ranking:
CompactV
Midnight 8
Awesome Cave 3000
the hidden path
crazy arrows

opinions:
Compact V is just crazy. Harumbai fit so much backtracking and stuff into this cave that it's ridiculous. The only thing I don't like about it is the tight-spike gameplay of some parts, but I managed to get far with tons of checkpoints.

Midnight 8 and Awesome Cave 3000 were very close in my opinion. MVIII felt like you were beating a puzzle that was somewhat offscreen, and Awesome Cave 3000 may have been a little too easy. But I guess Midnight 8 is just a better cave overall.

I'm not sure about the hidden path. It looks like it could be cool, but it's either an evil puzzle or I'm just not very smart. and I keep thinking I'm finding things wrong with the cave, but I don't know anything for sure until Ckjr says something about it.

and of course, crazy arrows just isn't much of a cave. It's more like a single trap that can be cheated through, but it's not a terrible cave either.

1. Awesome Cave 3000
2. Midnight VIII
3. CompactV
4. The Hidden Path
5. Crazy Arrows

Awesome Cave 3000 and Midnight VIII is very difficult to decide. Awesome Cave is the more beatable of the two, while Midnight VIII is cleverer designed. In the end I think I had more fun with Awesome Cave 3000.
I felt CompactV was just too evil. Too many luck based jumps. The was designed very and it was fun to play, but it is simply too evil in some places.
The Hidden Path is either very sloppy designed, or very evil. In either case I don't like it.
Crazy Arrows bases itself on one of the oldest types of caves without bringing in anything new. It is also ridden with glitches. By using invincibility, you can stop a large part of the trap early on. It is massively impacted by the disappearing arrow glitch and I even got a Shockwave Error because a dynamite exploded next to a wallless side. Easily the worst of the 5.

1. CompactV
2. Awesome Cave 3000
3. Midnight VIII
4. The Hidden Path
5. Crazy Arrows

I had no real trouble with CompactV, the first traps took a while, but not too long, and everything became much easier after that. I have played it the most of these caves, easily.
Awesome Cave 3000 is pretty good but a bit short, and sort of cheatable. This doesn't affect the cave very much though. I enjoyed it the whole time I was playing it, which due to the length of the cave, wasn't very long.
Midnight VIII was a pretty challenging puzzle. I did enjoy it, but when you were doing things wrong it wasn't very apparent, and made me do the same things over and over. This wasn't the case with Awesome Cave 3000, because you could see what happened the whole time. Still, the actual puzzle was much better, but just not as enjoyable.
I don't feel like repeating what you guys already said about The Hidden Path and Crazy Arrows. I agree with you; They're just not very enjoyable.

so without jebby, this is the current standing:
CompactV
Awesome Cave 3000
Midnight 8
the hidden path
crazy arrows

the top three are separated only by a point.

that complicates things. I guess we should post the unfinished results on the first page for easier tracking, along with the point leads.

It's not like you'll judge all the remaining categories in less than a week...don't worry, just judge as usual, I'll do what's required.

This is going too slow. I suggest we start rating multiple categories at once.

CompactV (5 points): I really didn't mind the spikes in the end. I appreciated how clever this cave is; it packs a lot of interesting gameplay into such a small place. There's a lot of backtracking as well and that's something that I like to see in the design of a cave.

Awesome Cave 3000 (4 points): A fun little cave to play like most of DBK's creations. A lot of options open to the player as he moves about the different areas. Doesn't get first place as it lacks some of the complexity of Compact.

Midnight 8 (3 points): I struggled to get out of the first section quite a lot; I couldn't stand trying to make the gap through the arrows. A clever open layout, but not as enjoyable as the top two.

The Hidden Path (2 points): I couldn't progress beyond the first room. Even looking at the generator, I wouldn't say it's any better than Midnight.

Crazy Arrows (1 point): I like the style of this old-fashioned cave, but it's too sloppy and easy to avoid.

1. The 12 Waves
2. Notepad Killer
3. The Core
4. Mild
5. Jump

Other than The 12 Wave, I didn't like any of these levels. An improperly used Rocket, Shotgun, Laser or Machine Gun (which all of these were) automatically makes a level about 70% less enjoyable. Combining any of those enemies with sloped terrain automatically makes a level up to 95% less enjoyable.
CK's usage of the laser guys was pretty fun. It's funny to see how you make it across a level that would otherwise be impossible with all the lasers flying about, by simply doing nothing. I suppose Accel's or Kro's usages weren't that bad either. But especially in Quirvy's level, those guys just sucked out all the fun you could possibly have in that level.
He's lucky that Kro's level was just as vanilla and easy as is humanly possible, or he'd have last place by a very large margin.

GUYS WE NEED TO HURRY WITH THIS JUDGING

anyway, I'm gonna have to mostly agree with jell:
1. The 12 Waves
2. The Core
2. Notepad Killer
4. Mild
5. Jump

but I though Isa's level was at least better than mine.

so if you've judged N levels already, then move onto the DDA/Line Rider category:

ENTRIES:
1) Slackin' in Free rider 2 (Free Rider 2) - Ck
2) Stay Still (HATPC) - canadianstickdeath
3) Krotomo's Slackin' (HATPC) - krotomo
4) Can't touch this (N) - Isa

now judge!

1. The 12 Waves.
2. The Core
3. Notepad Killer
4. Mild
5. Jump

I don't think we're tied, Accel...sorry. I failed pretty hard with my level - it is way too annoying. However, the parts after the start is quite enjoyable. Notepad Killer is just frustrating though, and not enjoyable to me. This might be the result of Tester's Syndrome though - I played my level more and therefore don't find it as annoying. Your third trap though was pretty cool.

DDA judging will start soon.

With 4 points... Slackin' in Free rider 2 (Free Rider 2) - Ck: unbelievably awesome.
With 3 points... Stay Still (HATPC) - canadianstickdeath - hard to match the FR2 DDAs, but this is the best of the HATPC ones without a doubt.
With 2 poitns... Krotomo's Slackin' (HATPC) - krotomo: same concept as CSD's, just not as visually spectacular.
With 1 point... Can't touch this (N) - Isa: I uploaded it and although it looks pretty cool, I'm not too sure what's going on...

If you don't know, the enemies in N should always react to your actions. These enemies, in Can't touch this, won't react to the ninja at all.
