Jebby and Shos talking about the speed at which they play HatPC got me thinking. Is there actually a substantial difference in the performances of our computers, enough to make the games easier?

Our family computer, the one I used for two years in playing HatPC and which I used to create and film Genesis has a processor of 2.10 GHz and a RAM of 2.00 GB.
My own computer which I use now to play with has a processor of 2.53 GHz and a RAM of 2.00 GB.
That is pretty up-to-date, yet I've never had any problem with any game going too fast. I don't notice any difference from when I started playing all those years ago.

If you want to know where to find out: Control Panel->System

That's pretty good. It should play all games at maximum settings, except for the extreme games.

3.10 GHz processor, RAM of 4.00 GB

Dunno the details of the computer that I learned hatpc on, but I think it was made in 1998 or something.

My computer is getting old (AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2.00 GHz, 2.00 GB RAM) but it can still run HatPC at the normal speed. Video recording doesn't really change anything for; the speed I play at in my walkthroughs is pretty much the same speed I play normally. My graphics card is the nVidia GeForce 7950, which is actually really old now, but is still probably better than most other people's on the interguild.

I've never had a computer that didn't run HatPC at around the same speed as this computer does, so I've never experienced playing the game when it isn't "fast".

Ummmm......

2.00GHz, 894MB RAM

Every time I turn on the computer, I dig out the task manager and end task a bunch of BS so that I can get anything done, lol. This thing should NOT be running Vista... But it does play HATPC normal speed, though it can get... jumpy, especially when recording.

The computer I used to play on played it a lot slower. When you turn on the video recorder, it slows to a crawl, lol. Takes over 5 minutes to get the first treasure in snowflake. I can get something close on this computer by turning on the power saver.

CSD, wouldn't it be possible to prevent those programs from starting up in the first place?

I would imagine, but I'm not proactive like that. Every other day, I get a pop-up telling me to upgrade dell support centre: "Effective now, these valuable messages are part of the new Dell Support Centre. Dell needs to upgrade Dell Support without impacting system performance so that messages continue to be received. -Start Upgrade- -Remind Me Later-" And I've been clicking "Remind Me Later" every other day for the better part of a year now.

kro, 448 MB is only about a half of 1 GB, it's not *that* little.

And Bmwsu was clearly being sarcastic.

maybe it's because 50% of the sarcasm on this site isn't that good.

But that's just my opinion.

50% of our members take things too seriously such as novelty levels, and FAIL at sarcasm.
