I got an interesting idea: what if we had difficulty ratings so that you can sort levels based on difficulty? Could be an interesting feature.

technically you can make them now, but at least people will know what they're getting themselve's into when they play such a cave

yeah, it'll be another rate. It'll probably be a one-though-ten rating. I'm actually working on it right now, since there's a good chance that you guys will like this.

Instead of showing "Difficulty: 7/10" or something, I think it should also include some form of description based on the number. For example, if it's 10 it could say "Difficulty: 10/10, Evil", then for 9 it could say "very hard", then for 8 "hard", 7 "challenging", 6 "moderate", 5 "average", 4 "easy", 3 "very easy", 2 "very easy", 1 "super easy", 0 "very super easy". This should help people from getting confused with the quality rating.

In fact, what if we added such a thing for the quality rating system? It could help us find a standard by which we all rate caves. Or is that a bad idea? b/c who'd want to see a "Rating: 3/10, Bad" next to their cave?

but then what about the 9.9 ratings and stuff? i mean, imperio would probably be 10; B&M, RoDB, snowflake, perhaps Hatpc Hardcore(and Merry Chistmas XD) would be 9.9, right?

and no, i don't think we should add wording to the regular rating system. it's demoralizing.

That's actually a bad thing too. People like A and B see the difficulty rating, frowns, clicks the next level below.

What you definitely could do is make a separate category for novelty caves, and when a novelty cave is submitted, it's rated differently or not rated at all. So then we wouldn't have to say things like "8 out of 10 is the max I'll give novelty caves" or something, and people wouldn't be flamed for making them.

As for difficulty, I'm against whatever out-of-10 rating thing you suggested, but maybe we could just add it as something that could be found by the cavegallery search. Like, when you submit a cave, it asks you the difficulty and you can set it there. Or something. And if it's more or less difficult than the creator put it as, the mods can always change it. And I'll be free to continue giving stupidly difficult caves the ratings I believe they deserve. Or at least I'll know not to play them.

Sounds like a cool idea. I'd support this. Of course the target difficulty would be 4-6, so a 3/10 could be made to seem just as bad as a 7/10.

I don't think we get that many too hard caves on the Interguild honestly, but it'd make picking caves to play easier.

you're welcome to try Triathlon. but you'll have to upload it yourself as i don't have it uploaded anymore. i'd give it a 7/10 in difficulty.

Triathalon looked pretty sweet by your vid, but I could only get past the dynamite trap.

you kidding me? the first trap..? =\

the only place i find hard is the arrow that's right under that area...all you need to pass the 2nd trap is to land and THEN click left, and you'll be fine. no luck is involved there...

1. I can never get the treasure in the 2nd trap 2. You should totally release/make a wt for the whole cave, I can only imagine what else is in there.

Why would he come from Pluto? You won't find any useful metals or silicium there and it is too cold for mechanics to work correctly.
